HOW NOT TO MOVE FUNDS ONCHAIN!
Someone moved $120.2M USDT into a Tron wallet and tried swapping most of it for XMR.
The buy was so big it pushed Monero 30% in hours. That caught everyone’s attention.
Tether then froze $72M before the exit finished.
What failed here wasn't Monero. It was using a freezable asset to enter it.

Freezes are a lot common than you're being told. Plus in many cases users unknowingly leak data when swapping.

unfortunately, most of these new trading and exchange platforms comply blindly. They're not resilient and have little to no practical means to put the interests of users first.
The end result, it’s easier to block you than to deal with you.

1) “DeFi” services do the blocking en masse but unlike banks they don't even give you the reason. Sometime they may even not let you withdraw your assets.
2) Centralized exchanges and crypto swap services may easily confiscate the funds if they see a small risk associated with the wallet. This happens a lot more than you think.
They are not as regulated as banks and hence there is little someone can do to get them to act responsibly.
3) There are countless cases where people assets were confiscated (we wrote about some of them in the past).
We know a user with 400k frozen at @MEXC_Official. There were also many cases with frozen funds when using crypto swap services.
Sometimes, this happens just because the provider knows the user's IP address and understands that there are no legal means for a user to appeal.
So what's your way out of this?
Use systems where:

ZCASH UPDATE : WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
1. All Zcash wallets essentially stopped working on June 3rd as a result of emergency security update.
2. The update happened in a form of coordinated patch among network’s key node operators. (Secrecy was important and is indeed normal in such cases).
3. All wallets are required to update its core libraries to be compatible with the chain and stay operational.
4. Unstoppable wallet had its libraries updated within hours and new wallet version should be shortly available both on App Store and Play Market.

WARNING: Stablecoins Are Less Secure Than Money In Your Bank Account.
US just seized $1 billion in stablecoins. Treasury Secretary Bessent confirmed it yesterday. His words : “We Grabbed Iranian wallets”
What likely happened in reality:
- Now, if you think there was some kind of careful judicial process to locate IRGC wallets and ban just them that is very unlikely.
- The freezes likely happen via AI and it won't selectively just freeze IRGC accounts or government entities. Such AI system would be to identify and flag anyone it believes to be Iranian.
- If AI knows the address of some Iranian exchange or anyone one for that matter they feel to be affiliated with the government anyone transacting with that entity is a target. And so are the entities transacting with those entities. Imagine the map here.
That's how sanctions work in practice. It’s an algorithm that is broad, automated and error-prone.
Here is what you should learn from it!
- stablecoins have ZERO privacy in their current form. anyone you transact with know everything about your past and future transaction history.
- stablecoins can be easily confiscated even in non-custodial wallet! Infact confiscating your bank balance is much more harder.
- stablecoins are not a type of currency you should be looking for if you need resilience.
- stablecoins are usable for payments not for storing long term savings. You get it in when needed and get out after your task accomplished.
If you’ looking for resilience, privacy and sovereignty become key factors
- Privacy can be provide only by privacy preserving cryptos like Zcash or
Monero.
- if you’re a Bitcoin holder to maintain privacy your should never touch KYCed platforms. If you need make a habit of swapping into XMR/ZEC before touching any platforms that know your identity. This will keep you primarily wallets unlinkable to your identity.

18,500 People Thought Buying Gift Cards Made Them Anonymous
On March 1, Bitrefill (a major gift card provider) was hacked by North Korea's Lazarus Group.
18,500 user purchase records exposed:
- what they bought,
- when and with what crypto.

REMINDER: Here is what happens when border patrol demands your phone PIN!
Borders. Detentions. Robberies.
Coercion happens. You can't refuse. You can't run. And often forced to unlock and expose everything on your device.
That's the nightmare scenario most crypto wallets wallet users ignore until it's too late.

Some swap providers offer great rates… until they freeze your funds. That’s the part most apps don’t tell you.
Not all “DEX-like” swaps are truly decentralized.
- @THORChain like DEX is pure on-chain. No freezes.
- Intent-based systems (like @near_intents) have better rates sometimes… but freeze risk exists. Their product. Their rules. We don't think their model can be sustained without this.

Few months ago we embarked on a task to make KYCed centralized crypto exchanges obsolete for our users.

BEWARE: Crypto swap websites are tracking you - here's how they do it.
Most swap sites want you to connect your wallet first. That's when the data leak starts.
- device fingerprinting
- wallet address logged
- IP address tracked
- transaction history linked
Pretty much everything about you is leaked at this point.
Unstoppable recently launched

It collects nothing and allows you to swap without connecting your wallet. This doesn’t apply to all coins but most major ones are covered.

The dark side of NO KYC crypto swaps you don't know about !
Most swap services for XMR (applies to all other as well) don’t ask for KYC.
Sounds good at first, but here’s what you don’t see.
1) No KYC, until there is KYC
Your funds get frozen and suddenly you’re asked to go through KYC. Either comply or lose your funds.
There are legit cases but also many many where funds endup confiscated because the provider knows the user has no real way to appeal.
That’s why :
- having a clear risk profile before the swap is critical. Users should understand risks before the swap.
- it’s important for users to understand that you’re not swapping with the wallet itself, but with a third-party provider, with its own rules.
2) Data Collection
Swap services collect users' data! Period.
In some cases without wallet provider even knowing about it.
When user requests a quote, the IP, device and other metadata get passed directly to the provider.
So if something goes wrong, not only funds get frozen, but the data can be passed to third parties as well.
3) Human Factor
Many swap providers endup exposing users unknowingly.
If swap is not integrated correctly on the wallet side it may end up being unsafe for people coming from conflict zones.
For instance, an unhonest provider may simply confiscate funds of the users whose IPs originate from conflict zones. Not because of risk, but because they can get away with this.
A user in Palestine, Iran, Sudan, Yemen, Afghanistan (and there are at least a dozen of other places like this...) have simply no legit means to question or appeal with the swap provider.
At Unstoppable we do it differently.
- we show clear risk profiles for each provider that makes it clear what risks are
- we don’t collect or pass your data to swap providers. we don't work with providers that insist on us passing the data.
- all quote requests go through our aggregator, which acts as a proxy between you and the provider.

It’s one thing to point out the flaws of someone BUT making up stuff is just PATHETIC!
We are by no means here to support @zodl_app team which had some kind of beef with @Zcash foundation or whatever.
We don’t give a shit to be honest and plainly said before … if you need a good wallet for ZEC or XMR for that matter, Unstoppable is the wallet!
Why would people spread fakery/gossip while disregarding the real flaws of their own? Who needs more drama? This reminds us of the fake news machine where they throw bones to divert attention from real stuff.
So, cow, stick to running your CEX exchange business!
P.s. On that note we invite all XMR people to use our swap engine instead! We are not paying anyone to promote it.

WARNING: How to travel with crypto safely!
CZ just warned holders heading to high-risk countries to lock their exchange accounts to avoid kidnapping and extortion.
That's a band-aid on a bigger problem.
Here's what actually works:
Rule 1) Don't keep exchange apps on your phone
- If they can see it, they can force you to unlock it
- CEX apps are easy target with your full balance and history visible
Rule 2) Use a wallet with duress mode
- in case of emergency you have an option to present attacker wallet you can afford to lose
- Keep your main stash hidden in a separate account

WARNING: Your stablecoins are NOT yours!
Even in a non-custodial wallet. Ledger, Trezor, Unstoppable - doesn’t matter.
- they can freeze with a click. Automated system flags you transaction and freezes it based on some dubious risk score.
- no court order needed. And history show it’s not always neutral.
So keep this in mind:
- don’t park long-term funds in USDC / USDT. Once frozen, recovery can take months or never happen AT ALL.
