I'm a bit partial to serif, so it's a personal bias of mine grating on your nerves. I'll look into it. Maybe I can make it configurable in the editor, so you could switch to sans and adjust font size.

The relay goes live next month. To get read/write access you need to become a member. You can sign up at https://decentnewsroom.com/essayist
It will require AUTH and only accept long-form, but it will otherwise be a regular relay you can publish to from any client.
Within Decent Newsroom, I do intend to offer some shortcuts, like broadcast existing to Essayist, or publish a preview to Essayist members only.

The members are free to publish anything, there is no quality gate or a global editorial team. The membership requirement is designed to reward honest actors. The intent is to build an engaged community that will be willing and able to spot fake news, point that out in the comments (or reports), and debate its merits. And members have control of their own dials, to mute or follow contributions based on their own judgement.
Since this is a platform and an opt-in service, the relay reserves the right to remove content for legal reasons. This does not in any way affect the writers' ability to remain censorship resistant on the protocol level.

I am totally doing this for me, but now you get to have it, too.
Whenever you upload an image on Decent Newsroom, it will show up in the Media Manager so you can come back for it later and reuse it elsewhere.
Or you can upload images in advance, and then grab them directly from the article editor to include them in your latest piece.

Had a rash of 502 errors on article pages recently.
That was... a mess. The issue has been fixed and everything should be loading normally again, if not better than before. The bug hunt was serpentine and resulted in multiple loading optimizations that otherwise might not be there.

You could also try https://untype.app/ or the Obsidian plugin.
It is currently a bit of an uphill battle to get articles published, but keep trying. You'll find the tools and more are in development.
Decent Newsroom comes with it's own editor, also. Soon!
