Have you read / listened to / watched any sources on international law that are not Israeli? No sources other than Israel themselves – and a few of their closest allies – say Israel follow international law.
Tour views on this are out of sync with the vast majority of the world. Even sources linked to the USA or UK military describe Israel's behavior in more critical terms than liberal media from the United States quoting Israeli officials.

You are correct that they are not peers.
If Israel deploy the full force of their military against an opponent who are 90% weaker it violates #proportionality before you even look at the details.
Last time I checked #Qassam funding was about 3% of Israel's (and that was an Israeli source trying to make "Hamas" sound rich) and at the start of the war Qassam and #SarayaAlQuds combined were about 37,000 compared to half a million people in the #IDF

The protesters are keeping U.S. Americans safe. If people see that the public oppose Israel there are far less likely to be retaliation attacks against U.S. civilians.
