A prime example of my contempt for today’s MSM.
They’re asking questions for things *they* want to know to just generate controversy. And eyeballs.
Versus doing the job of real journalism and asking questions that will inform the public.
Dana Bash’s reaction when Harris didn’t rise to her bait about Trump questioning her racial identity was telling. Bash was so hoping to generate a reaction and was so disappointed when she got nothing.
Bash wasted a valuable opportunity to ask a substantive question on petty BS.
Sad.

I find it annoying, as it appears you do as well, when they call these “conferences”, do a rug pull on you, and essentially trick you into covering a campaign event. Which in fairness, you all in the media might cover anyway as part of your job.
An unsolvable problem I guess.

I don’t know how this works Steve, so perhaps you could educate me (us).
When they let you know when they’re going to do the “conference”, do they tell you in advance that they are going to take questions?
Because if they tell you yes and then don’t, seems like you should call them on it as you did, but let them know you won’t cover anymore since they are just using you all as campaign props.
Or is the pressure too great from powers-that-be to be there no matter what?

MSM is just not getting it. Harris doesn’t *need* them anymore to get her message out. She can bypass their filter and go straight to the people.
MSM isn’t buggy whip irrelevant (yet), but they’re not learning well that this is a new type of campaign that just happens to have an outstanding comms team.
Sure, Harris can, and most likely should, engage with the MSM. But on her terms, not theirs. And they aren’t liking the fact that their self-perceived role as king (queen) makers doesn’t apply anymore.
I’m a boomer and I can see this, can’t understand how they don’t.
