It's easy to underestimate the value of taking small steps. Most people won't buy Bitcoin because they can't imagine how buying $20 monthly can add up to something big.
These are also the same people who think that going through the gym for 20 minutes doesn't count. They think that if they can't get 100,000 steps a week, there's no point in even trying.
Take small steps. Eventually, you'll see the results of those steps as your effort compounds with time.
Your $20 monthly Bitcoin buy will eventually be worth $100, then $1,000, then $10,000. After a couple of decades, it'll be worth $1M+.
Don't make excuses for not taking action. Take the small steps. Your future self will be thankful.

Before I discovered Bitcoin, I was a completely different person.
I just wanted to accumulate as many things as I could. More expensive car. Bigger home. The newest tech.
After I studied and bought Bitcoin, I started realizing the difference between price and value.
Price is what you pay. Value is what you get.
If something isn't useful to you, any price is too high. If something is useful to you or will make you more money, buy the best version you can find.
Don't focus on spending as little as possible. Focus on creating as much value as you can for as many people as possible and spending the value you receive on improving your life or the life of others.

Salaried workers are easier to control
1) 90%+ of salaried workers don't get a pay increase during the year if their cost of living rises. They're lucky to get a pay increase at the end of the year.
2) Governments can also get them to follow orders so that they have permission to continue to work and earn money. Your employer can fire you if you don't follow the rules.
So what happens if the prices of the things a salaried worker consumes rise during the year?
They can't buy those things anymore... Because their paycheck isn't going up to make up for the increase in price
If the price of steak rises, more people can't afford it, and they have to substitute with chicken
If chicken is too expensive, they have to substitute for something else
Eventually, the only substitute is processed garbage that's made in factories
If more people can't afford steak, the economy focuses more on producing goods and services that people can afford (processed garbage, toxic sludge)

What happens if the government mandates that salaried workers do something?
The workers get fired if they don't, and they can no longer support their family

I know running a business isn't for everyone

The Bitcoin blockchain is the settlement layer of the Bitcoin network
Bitcoin transactions that have been confirmed can't be reversed or censored
They can be sent OR received WITHOUT the need for a central third-party
Lightning is the transaction layer of the Bitcoin network
This network is a way to take transactions off of the base layer and transact on a private database
You can set up your own Lightning node to make it trustless, or you can use apps that people have created to make it trusted (I have a limited understanding of the technicals here)
Eg. Wallet of Satoshi isn't real Lightning - from what I know, you're just using someone else's Lightning node to send and receive transactions
In the current financial system, we can send wire transfers for final settlement
Wire transfers that have been sent cannot be reversed
Wire transfers have to be sent by one financial institution to another financial institution
To send a wire transfer, you MUST complete all KYC (know your client) requirements, which are set by governments
Your bank will ask you 8,483 questions before you can send a wire transfer and you can only send it during bank hours
We use Visa and Mastercard on a day-to-day basis
Visa and MasterCard transactions can be reversed
They require a central authority's permission and can be censored if the payment processor doesn't like you or the merchant you're dealing with
They can be tracked
They can be stopped
The Bitcoin base layer is for movements of large amounts of value, Lightning is for movements of small amounts of value
You would make a payment for something like a car or a house with Bitcoin, and you would pay for coffee with lightning
Once you have a certain amount of money on Lightning, you can move it to the Bitcoin base layer

Why would sovereign nations want to hold US government debt if they know they will be repaid in devalued dollars?
Bitcoin is a much better solution for long-term savings.
Example:
If you hold $100 billion of US debt for 30 years, you'll be paid back in dollars that are worth SIGNIFICANTLY less. You'll get interest payments along the way.
Right now, 30-year Treasury rates are around 4.34%. If the money supply is inflated by 7% on average over that time (this number has historically been much higher - it keeps up with the S&P 500), the bondholder would lose ~2.7% to inflation per year!
In 30 years, at maturity, the bondholder would receive $100 billion (in nominal terms). The holder would also receive ~$130 billion in annual interest payments throughout the 30 years.
The $100 billion payout has a present value of $11.3 billion. The interest payments have a present value of $51.1 billion, so the bond is actually worth only $62.4 billion in present value terms.
The bondholder would have LOST ~$37.6 BILLION by saving in US treasuries.
Why would you pay $100B for something worth only $62.4B?
If the investor put 5% of their portfolio in Bitcoin - $5 Billion in Bitcoin and 95 billion in bonds - their portfolio would perform SIGNIFICANTLY better.
Bitcoin has historically returned 100%+/year, but let's be conservative and say it will return 20%/year for the next 30 years.
The 5% allocation would be worth $1.19 trillion. The portfolio would be worth almost $1.8 trillion.
Instead of taking a compounded -1.5% annually (a 1.5% loss),
The portfolio would have returned 10.1% annually (a 10.1% gain).

18-24 months from now, there will be people who are excited about Bitcoin entering a bear market, because "this time, it's going to 0."
And then 4 years after that, and 4 years after that, and 4 years after that...
You get what I mean.
Bitcoin is never going to 0.
People who wish Bitcoin goes to 0 can't imagine being wrong about something.
They missed out and now they want everyone who DIDN'T miss out to suffer.

On a sound money standard, NO ENTITY IS TOO BIG TO FAIL.
When the price of Bitcoin goes up, retail investors get confident and start lending their BTC to financial institutions and making terrible decisions.
These financial institutions start lending coins irresponsibly to earn a profit.
In the legacy financial system, mistakes are forgiven by providing bailouts. This is because the legacy financial system is built on fake money (fiat currencies) that can be created out of thin air.
On a Bitcoin standard, there are no bailouts.
If you make mistakes, you're going to be taken out.
A few months after April's halving, innovation will be at its peak. Anyone who built during the bear market will probably be very successful during the bull market.
When the price of Bitcoin rises as a result of supply being cut by 50%, new businesses start offering services and products that are of immense value.
But not all of these companies are doing what they say they do...
After two years of prosperity is when the scammers are exposed (eg. FTX, Luna, etc).
Over the next few years, we'll go through the same cycle that we went through the LAST few years. We'll hit a higher high. Then we'll hit a higher low. Then we'll be back to 50%-60% below the previous all-time high.
This will happen over and over again until we are no longer using USD to value Bitcoin.
With each cycle, there's more adoption - more people learn how Bitcoin works and they start moving their fiat wealth, which is worthless, into the scarcest asset in the world.
In the next 6-18 months:
• There will be people offering you 15-20% returns for lending your BTC
• There will be others selling you some garbage that they created
• There will be a lot more new coins that promise riches and wealth
Study Bitcoin so you don't fall for the scams.

I try to avoid telling people to buy Bitcoin.
I tell them to study it.
Why?
Because I KNOW that if you buy Bitcoin without understanding what it is, you will sell early and regret it.
Bitcoin will destroy your emotional state if you're not ready for the volatility (like the pullback we're experiencing right now).
I know people who sold at $20K in 2022 because they thought Bitcoin was going to $0 and now they're kicking themselves.
I know people who went all in at the $70,000 because they thought it was going to $100,000, and now they're panicking.
Don't make the mistake of buying anything before you have an understanding of what you're buying.
Once you understand Bitcoin, these drops are an OPPORTUNITY, not SOMETHING TO BE AFRAID OF.
We are in the shakeout phase - a lot of people are being taken out because they have no confidence in the asset they own.
Bitcoin is the best form of money that has ever existed.
It's better than gold and fiat.
It has a limited supply.
The production cannot sped up.
It's backed by the most powerful network in the world.
Don't dismiss this!

Every company in the global stock market will be repriced based on how much Bitcoin it holds or can generate in the future.
Microstrategy $MSTR is a visionary: it knows that the price of Bitcoin will rise, so being able to generate Bitcoin will get more difficult over time.
We are in a weird time where we can buy the MONEY OF THE FUTURE with the MONEY OF THE PAST (fiat currencies).
This is a cheat code that THE ENTIRE WORLD has access to (including individual investors).
As stocks are repriced, I think MSTR will have the highest market cap in the world because it's THE ONLY ONE taking advantage of the market's inefficiency in pricing Bitcoin.

You may think you understand Bitcoin, but if this pullback has you scared and running for the exits, you DON'T understand Bitcoin.
Don't get shaken out because of the volatility.
This is exactly what large financial institutions want you to do.
I know what I own so I WILL NOT be selling cheap.
Pullbacks in price are a normal and healthy part of any market.
This is a sign that the market is trying to figure out an appropriate price for this brand new asset.
Pullbacks in price will continue to happen until we move from a fiat currency standard to a Bitcoin standard.
As more people learn about Bitcoin, fewer are selling what they own.
This bull run could be completely different from anything we experienced in the past because of Bitcoin exchange-traded funds buying thousands of BTC every single day.
I plan to hold my coins for at least 5 years so I don't care about the volatility along the way.

Joe Biden wants to tax billionaires 25%.
He says it would raise $400 Billion over the next 10 years.
He forgot to mention something important though:
The US government's problem ISN'T related to income (it just borrows more whenever it needs).
The problem is SPENDING.
The US government is adding $1-3 trillion to its debt EVERY YEAR.
It pays $1 TRILLION in interest alone each year.
Taxing billionaires will make absolutely no difference, other than leading to a flight of capital to other tax-friendly countries.
When billionaires are taxed, do you think the US government will just randomly stop spending more than it earns?
This seems more like a way to get more votes than anything by appeasing the people who don't understand finance.
$400B is NOTHING when it comes to how much the US government is spending.
At some point, instead of "tax the billionaires," we will see a new narrative forming:
"Tax the millionaires"
Then: "Tax the thousandaires"
Then: "Let's just keep everything."
