dave is not correct here, to my knowledge Damus does not display a feed of current new profiles. Neither does Astral if it does something at all at the moment. Nostr Console might at least dispay the raw data - not very comfortable and also requires a download/build.
Of course it would be no rocket science to integrate such a feature, as profiles are just kind 0 notes posted to the relays.

from what I see in nostrudel you are following more than 800 accounts.
I was always curious how relays will manage requests to see notes of a large number of accounts. Maybe some relays are silently failing on that or limiting the filter to not all of the people you are following?

nutsack.me has a funny mint selection, where you have to click on the text, not the checkbox to select a mint.
The "Next" Button does not react, but is doing something. Some time later it displays a wallet. I send 10 sats using lightning. It displays 20 sats. Great. Went to higlighter.com/wallet. No wallet to see. After some time three wallets... all with zero balance.
Back to nutsack.me the wallet has disappeared. After selecting the same mint and clicking next, again waiting minutes the wallet shows up again. With zero balance.
If something does not work already, one should not post it to the public, made it available to the public, promote it.

What any client will display for that depends from which client you published your profile the last time. I see "Silner". Consequently I can tag you with "@Silner" but not "@silneratnostr" - even if I append the domain.

Waren Nachwehen zweier Probleme: Erst ein technisches am Westkreuz, dann Personen im Gleis in Pasing. Das führte zu einer langwierigen Sperrung in Pasing (kann man eigentlich den Münchner Westbahnhof nennen) und anschließend zu einem annähernd totalen Ausfall der S-Bahn Stammstrecke und Überlastung aller Ausweich-Möglichkeiten.

I've been on a quite big mastodon instance for the local town (run by volunteers). When it was announced to shutdown I switched to a very small instance. And then problems where there: You don't see many posts because the small instance only imports posts from people followed by people on this instance. So you have to browse e.g. the giant mastodon.social for interesting content. And then try to follow the accounts from there.
Regarding political orientation: You'll find anything on some instances but that is also what fragments mastodon even further: Server admins block each other if they do not like the content coming from the other side.
On the other hand most of the interesting content I read on Nostr comes from mastodon. Most Nostr topics I see are still self centered or bitcoin. But it is not easy to interact with Mastodon content from Nostr. The mostr.pub relay does (of course) not copy all posts, is blocked by many instances. Also if I answer to a post from Nostr, it looks quite awkward on mastodon. Sometimes I switch to a mastodon client for that, but then again: Don't find the post in question on my instance, following via their home instance is complicated and it takes some time (sometimes days) to see the sought post then on my instance.

As you own your account - your key - this is easy. Just delete it. But I assume you also want to delete all your notes and especially your profile data from the relays.
As Nostr is decentralized this is not easy. And there may also be relays that do not support event deletion.
I'm also not aware of a client supporting mass deletion of notes. And even clients capable of deleting single notes are rare. I currently only know https://nostrudel.ninja. There open your profile, switch to notes, also activate to show replies in that tab. Then you have to open the context menu - the three little dots on the side - on every single note you ever wrote and select delete. 🥴
Although it is technically possible to also delete the notes with your profile information, I do not know of an easy to use client to do that. The simplest way would be to edit your profile and replace all personal data with "anonymous", leave links to avatar and background pictures empty. There will be older notes staying for a while in Nostr containing the previous data, though.
And there are also media you posted. Where these are stored depends on the client and it's setting you used to post these. If you want to delete them, you maybe have to contact the people running these file upload services and ask for deletion. If you try that, do not delete your notes first, they may be useful to convince service operators that the files have been uploaded by you.
To sum it up: It is not easy and there is no guarantee that you reach all relays to delete all your content.
And there should be a tool to do it with a few clicks. And looking at all that on the contrary: One does not own a Nostr account. 😞

The last time I asked a AI for code was for a code snippet to do orthographic transcription (e.g. Владимир Путин -> Vladimir Putin). The AI responded with a snippet doing a (even pointless) change of encoding that would result in an exception only.
I complained about getting only an exception when executing the code. It then try catch print stack trace the code. After complaining about not wanting a stack trace, the AI removed the stack trace output, so the result was just nothing.
So I complained again and reformulated my requirements. It then corrected the code to a version that did again only change the encoding transitionally resulting in strings containing replacement characters for the ones not available in the target encoding.
I gave up. 🤦‍♂️
What I did expect was giving me a solution using some library or telling me a common algorithm or library for orthographic transcription is not available.
This is just one example. Almost always when I ask a AI for non trivial code the response is just wrong, fantasizing about non existing APIs or contains computational errors. Corrections after rejecting responses are so stupid that if I did get from team mates I would have asked them if they want to be kidding me.

In Nostr one could generate key pairs on and on and flood Nostr with spam of whatever kind they like. Relays might block addresses sending to many notes per time, block npubs sending to many notes, delete notes by these npubs at their will.
Nostr users might report npubs they accuse for misconduct thereby helping relays identify npubs to block.

as they wrote it does only work in private windows and to test if it works one has to visit the same page in a private and normal window. Also it is restricted to a unknown (?) list of specific web sites.
So in short: no, I did not test it.
And obviously processing cookie banners automatically requires some kind of scraping technology. Not easy, not reliable. So Im afraid we have to live with that for a while 🤷‍♂️

Natürlich ist das eine Definitionsfrage, Du selbst definierst es ja auch gleich, nur anders als die meisten anderen und siehst es nur als Vergrößerung der Geldmenge. Damit sind natürlich von irgendjemand veröffentlichte Inflationszahlen für dich wertlos.
Als wenn Du irgendwo was über Inflation liest, einfach idR ignorieren, sondern guck einfach nach Veröffentlichungen über die Geldmenge findest und vergiss einfach andere Zahlen. 🤷‍♂️
Ob dann Lebensmittelpreise steigen, weil Ernten schlecht ausfielen oder Energiepreise steigen, weil sich Dinge ungünstig politisch entwickeln - kann Dir egal sein.

What Nostr is missing at the moment in my opinion is
- a standard for push notifications
- relays that just not are there somewhere, rather than are discoverable, also find each other and have means to connect and share notes automatically. The user should not bother about them at all, unless there is a real problem.
- Devs should not publish clients that are far from production quality, especially in app stores. Showed Nostr to so much friends, that are just checking a bit and then turn away again after first bad experiences.

Also das ist eine Definitions-Frage. Ist die Inflation wie üblich als Preissteigerung definiert, ist die Geldmenge ein Faktor der Inflation von vielen. I've tried crossposting to #twitter / #x using https://tweeter.nos.social a few times now. A notes text is thereby rendered using a very ugly font into an image. At least emojis are missing and displayed as crossed boxes. Don't know how languages not written in latin characters will look like. I see Twitter/X does not want to use OpenGraph previews from njump.me. Otherwise it would be easy, https://tweeter.nos.social could just tweet the njump link to the note and everything would look good. My recommendation for that: Either do the image right or just tweet the notes text. If it does not fit into an tweet, post part of the text and then "read on at <njump-link>"
Also Nostr account mentions within the text body are translated into njump.me/<pubkey> links. Not a bad idea to start from, but Twitter/X does not allow links with alternate text. So a mention ends up like an awkward link just within my text. Better would be to render a Nostr account mention as "<NostrAccountName> (njump-link)"

To explain #nostrpotatoes a bit more: It is just a nostr client that creates nostr labels (NIP-32) referring the movie. Any other client could read and display the labels in its own way. Display details about the rating, weight them according to e.g. following status of other reviewers etc.
The previously linked website is just a demo/development deployment demonstrating the concept.
Even if this site is lost, your ratings are not, thanks to the power of Nostr. As long as the relays have the reviews nothing is lost.

The Thai word "Farang" is a slang term for foreigners, in this case the main character. A Frenchman of Algerian descent who flees the law to Thailand and starts a family there, but gets into trouble again. The film languishes for a while and then culminates in an orgy of murder and manslaughter. Nassim Lyes, the main actor, is not only an actor but also a youth kickboxing champion in France. So you can expect excellent martial arts scenes, although so tough that some left the cinema. The two main characters do a good job. The story is not trivial, quite exciting but definitely only for fans of the genre.

So again on the loosing all accounts I'm following problem: if I edit my relays in #iris and hit the "Save Relays Publicly" button, iris will send out a kind 3 event containing the relays I want to use.
But none of the contacts I'm following is in that event.
Opening other clients (and even iris itself), that rely on the last kind 3 event for the contact list will lead to no accounts following at all.
So, is this just a bug in iris, or am I doing something wrong?
