Someone asked me today if I am a believer in God. I said, no, I can't honestly say that I believe in a God. But I do see wisdom in spirituality (a belief in something bigger than yourself, a grand plan, a humility in realizing we may not know or see everything, or know full reality, etc). And I think there is a role for spirituality: we are all trying to fill holes in our selves, and eliminate feelings of hurt and emptiness. Some people try to fill it with high time preference, buying fancy things. Some with alcohol or drugs. Some with sex. Some with exercise. Some people with community, family, work, sport, friends. Some with religion. Etc. Of all the choices, some are healthier than others, and probably none are good in the extreme. But I do see spirituality as a key component to healing, and it can clearly be a healthy substitute for the other, more damaging and harmful alternatives.

Historically, block space is most valuable only when the price of the token also starts to go exponential.
As the #bitcoin ledger is increasingly used to store information other than just bitcoin transactions, will we see fees paid for block space decouple and increase faster than bitcoin’s price?
In other words, will the network’s value proposition shift from “monetary” scarcity to “data storage” more broadly?

Nostr is currently for hobbyists, like it should be at this stage. No need to rush or critique it.
Like Linux was in the early 1990s, first adopted by a fringe of supercomputer folks and those wanting an alternative to msft, Nostr is today for the bitcoin community and freedom advocates.
Today Linux is everywhere, for example Android.
Point being: we don't need to be disappointed, at all. This isnt a VC backed venture or anything. It will mature and progress on its own pace. And it will grow and succeed. Same as bitcoin.

I'm sitting around thinking, in order to hedge against currency collapse, ETF approval can be seen as part of nation-state strategy to secure bitcoin within its borders. Likewise, to ensure frequent access to block space and permissionless/secure/immutable communication, you can see nation-states maximizing hashrate within their borders. For the newcomers to nostr who might wonder why all the freaks here are so passionate and focused on #bitcoin, let me try to simply capture the big idea.
Assume that when you work, instead of being paid in your local currency (like Yen, Euro, dollars, etc), you were paid in water.
You aren't going to drink all the water in the moment you earn it, so you need to find a jar or container to store it Obviously, you are going to choose a jar that is strong, secure, and does not leak.
Your local currency is the equivalent to a leaky jar. The leak is called price inflation. If you are using US dollars, over the long term, it leaks at around 7% every year. This leak can threaten the quality and length of your life.
Now, what if we also told you that the bankers and politicians were the ones that made the jar, and determined how much your jar leaks, and that bitcoin was a jar that didn't leak, and bankers and politicians could not change the bitcoin jar?
Would you view bitcoin as a source of freedom? Would you want some bitcoin?

Some people are happy to give up their freedom, if it means that they gain entry into a community. Others are willing to hurt others when trying to solve their own hurt. Zuckerberg was an outcast. Power is held by the puppeteers (ruling elites) who control the puppets (influencers) on a stage they also control.
When the message is a lie, the truth is revealed, and gaslighting is no longer an effective means of control, the audience loses trust, and the puppeteer must pivot to keep the audience in their seats.
The elites find new or rebranded platforms, and bring influencers who align with the new public opinion, but are also captured.
Think Musk buying Twitter, rebranded to X. Think Tucker on X. Think Milea presenting in Davos. All new puppets on rebranded stages. The audience sees these puppets, speaking the "truth", delivered on a (new) stage which they are told is different. But the puppeteer is the same. Those that pull the strings haven't changed. Things get worse over time, as the frog boils. And the audience stays in their seats.
Or, to quote Rothbard in Mystery of Banking, "...the public had already gotten used to pure name as the currency unit, an habituation that enabled the kings to get away with debasing the definition of the money name." Habituation and network effect and human inertia are prey for the ruling elite.
So, mission accomplished for the ruling elite. Note: This same switcharoo will be the case even if the power people introduce a new political party in the US: Same puppeteers, different branding.
This is why #nostr is so important. The ruling elites don't control the puppets or the stage on which they perform. It is also why #bitcoin is so important. It's growth defunds the ruling elite, transferring wealth and sovereignty to those who embrace freedom.
