Never seen this before in the four years I've been here, so naturally, I'm suspicious it's a scam.
Anybody else been hit with it? I'm pretty sure it's a scam.

Some of my friends have started taking their social security earlier than 67.
When I told them the decision is probably smart because there's no guarantee it's still going to be there in two years, they all said the same thing - Trump and the Republicans won't touch social security, it would be too unpopular with his base.
He just started a war without bothering to get permission from congress. I don't think he cares how unpopular SS cuts would be. It's not like anyone's going to stop him.

The eternal casting call.
I am deeply confused. Maybe the filmmaker genuinely believes he's honoring Val Kilmer but to me, it just seems exploitive and ghoulish.
I'd like to ask the keepers of his estate how this in anyway comforts them and adds to their memories of their father.

Sequential skepticism.
I really, really hate the time-travel sub-genre in science fiction.
I realize it can be a useful way for the author to tell their story but how can I believe in humanity traveling back and forth in time, repairing timelines and saving the world whilst following a guy in traffic who can't quite manage his turn-signal obligations?

True Story.
Half a year after 9-11, security for the company I was working for at the time were made aware that a disgruntled employee who was also a licensed single-engine pilot, was making threats about flying his plane into the corporate headquarters building downtown.
When no one could locate the pilot or the plane, the executive floor of the HQ was quietly evacuated. They told no one else working in the building.
They're never looking out for your safety, only theirs.

I'm holding a grudge.
Nothing against the amazing athletes but I'm not going to watch as a couple of cowed billionaires turn them into show-ponies to entertain a felon and serial sex-offender. That it's being broadcast by his media lap-dog Fox is just sticking a finger in my eye.
I think I can find better ways to spend my afternoon. Maybe I'll yell at clouds. ☁️ 🤔

Something Wicked This Way Comes.
It turns out it wasn't ICE trolling for children at a Chicago school but Secret Service agents wanting access to an eleven year-old who posted an anti-Trump video.
How exactly is that any less despicable?

I loved her courage. I'm sure she knew what was going to come her way from the sycophants and apologists.
She's a pretty good illustration of speaking truth to power; the look on their faces when she said what she said to them was priceless.
Isn't it curious how offended hateful people get when they're asked to be kind and compassionate?

A fine example of American business acumen.
- 2024: Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun departs with $24.8M in compensation.
- 2020: Boeing CEO Dennis Muilenburg departs with $62M in compensation.
But sure, laying off 17,000 employees is definitely going to fix your problems. 🙄
How about cutting compensation packages in the C-suite by 35% and putting safety checks back in the manufacturing process?

I imagine the next time I read about this man I'm going to say to myself "Why was he free to commit another crime and hurt another innocent person?"
Only a ten year suspended sentence for slamming a thirteen year-old boy down to the ground so hard his ears bled. All because the boy didn't remove his hat during the national anthem and Mr. Brockway believed hurting the boy was what former President Trump wanted him to do.
Make it make sense. 🤦‍♂️ 😠

A Job as a lifestyle.
My friend's employer likes to preach to the peons during mandatory all-hands. Today's topics were:
- You shouldn't be fat (so fat-shaming), because skinny people are healthier and have better self-discipline. People respect them more.
- Dump your outside friends, your friends should be your co-workers.
- You should make your bed every morning.
I know it's tough to find a new job when you're over 60 but this would motivate me to try.

Honest but not refreshingly so.
We stopped in to a world famous bar to whet our whistle after walking in the hot sun this afternoon.
I had an IPA from Bozeman, Montana that I would swear had the principal ingredients of sage, grapefruit and regret.
(You could really taste the regret after the first sip.)

When people are afraid to file a complaint because of the possibility of retaliation by thugs, we're in the same situation as average Germans in the 1930s with the Brown-shirts.
"A woman who works at the cemetery filed an incident report with the military authorities over the altercation. But the official, who has not been identified, later declined to press charges. Military officials said she feared Mr. Trump’s supporters pursuing retaliation."

My oldest sister doesn't understand why I don't visit my father.
It's true what they say, the opposite of love isn't hate, it's indifference.
Seems obvious but it you don't forge a relationship with your kid when they're young, they won't feel any reason to make you a part of their life when they're an adult.
Just sayin'

How is it legal for law enforcement to endorse a political candidate by standing around him in uniform at a political press conference held in a public building?
Turns out in Michigan, it's not. I wonder if anybody's going to do anything about it and hold the offenders accountable?
Did the Livingston County Sheriff's Office violate the law by hosting Trump?

Marketability Issues.
I didn't know what that term meant until my little sister Fink Miasma, who works in the mortgage industry, told me about two separate properties that crossed her desk recently each one having a deceased person buried on the property.
Yeah, sorry - I saw Poltergeist I AND 2. Either grandpa goes with you when you move or it's no deal.
I would pay money to watch perspective buyer's faces when they read the disclosure documents.
