So funny you posted this. Just last night I was asking my wife, “what would be the most embarrassing thing we could throw out on garbage day that all the neighbours would see.” I decided that a large portrait of myself would be the worst. Our garbage isn’t that embarrassing but i admit I peel the name and info labels off my prescription meds bottles before throwing them out, just because paranoia.

Here’s a very rough recent animation; it was going to be this dude walking with a friend and chatting about things like how he can’t eat carbs and getting a new jacket. I did a test of a walking cycle and how the lip sync would work but I never got any farther than that. I’d even shot some walking backgrounds at College and Spadina here in Toronto.

What do I do with these old floppy games? And original HyperCard software with box and manuals!People will pick up anything i curb in this neighborhood so I know someone will grab it, but I feel like someone might collect this stuff?

Like old Zip disks. What the fuck do I do with these? Still have the old G3 tower but it doesn’t boot up. I have a vague memory of you dealing with this kinda stuff, @npub1prs…eh8y ?

So we have 2 adult kids plus one girlfriend plus one dog moving back in with us in THESE CHALLENGING TIMES and we are purging our basement of about 30 years of stuff. One thing I find the most challenging, as the keeper and archivist of all digital memories (a role I did not ask for) is how to deal with so many old computers and disks and cds and dvd-rs and some outdated tech that are loaded with stuff. I can’t just delete shit or throw it out, it’s basically my 3 kids entire childhoods.

Over the past year I did a few voice over gigs thru Backstage for not a ton of money. On a whim last month I sent my reel to about 5 agents; 1 said no, one said “we’ll listen” but I never heard back and one really prominent one signed me a few weeks ago. Did a good gig last week and then today I did a big car commercial for which I made as much in two hours as I’d made in several days of video work or 3 weeks of the shitty background performer work I was doing last year.

A tale about money.
I had some recent experiences of not getting paid for stuff, including a video shoot I did for an artist; 2 days of shooting, couple days of editing at a discounted rate and then they said they would give me half for “my trouble.” Another gig hasn’t paid me yet, plus some other stuff I did for free left me feeling really down and frankly a bit worthless.

What’s the easiest way to update to the new version of #Faircamp? Do I have to re-upload and encode everything or can I just update the the .eno files and upload those? Can’t seem to find an “update” tutorial and I’m not particularly smart so the official manual makes me sad and scared.
