Especially when it's currency is the world's reserve currency, which is like having a magic checkbook. The US debt is a record of all the imports it's never had to pay for. The modern equivalent of the tribute demanded by older empires from the peoples they subjugate. People think the US debt makes them subject to their creditors. This is delusional nonsense.

I feel like this has context that isn't in the thread. Telling someone off for using the N word is kinda racist ... when they're black and you're white. Under any other circumstances it would be anti-racist. Context matters.

Basically, a small open hardware company's fediverse account was getting dogpiled over a controversial hiring decision. Now I get why people were pissed about that decisions, for sure, and they have every right to air their criticism. But nobody likes to be dogpiled, and I can totally understand the person operating the account starting to block on sight.
Then someone got FediBlock involved.
