This year we made our donation from our trans mug fundraiser to Camp Fyrefly Edmonton in memory of our niece.
She quietly struggled to fit into a world that is often too cruel to LGBTQ youth and we lost her last week. We are devastated.
I hope one day that people can just be who they are and those who promote hate will be held accountable for the suffering they cause others.
I encourage others who are able, to donate to this organization that helps trans youth.

This year I have decided to make more trans mugs. Last year I raised money for our local gender affirming closet.
This year, I'm looking to raise money for an organization the helps trans people in Alberta, where the premier is trying to eradicate their human rights.
Does anyone know of any organizations that offer support/services for the trans community in Alberta?

'Axion' is a sculpture from my series 'Liminal Dreams'.
Named after a hypothetical particle proposed to resolve enigmas in physics, the piece embodies the elegance of invisible forces that bind, hold, and balance matter in a perpetual dance of motion and stillness.
Due to climate change, drought and a 4 month fire ban, I could not fire additional pieces in this series until recently.

Fresh from yesterday's raku firing, meet Perseus' Cloud.
Born from fire and smoke, this raku vessel is inspired by the Perseus Molecular Cloud. This little fragment of the cosmos, imprinted by fire, holds echoes of stars long gone.
Like us all, it is stardust.

They seem to only have the option to use a third party software that indiscriminately collects 35% tariffs on all shipments to the US.
I'll get more information next week when my post office is open again. I would hope that we can just give the HS code when shipping, which would be way more simple.

Spent a few hours trying to sort through the tariff thing and I think my brain is going to explode.
I may have to ship through a private courier to the US going forward because Canada Post wants me to collect tariffs for Trump on exempt items. Art is exempt, and many items are under CUSMA.

Grateful rain is coming today. We are still in a severe drought. There are fire restrictions, poor air quality and restrictions on going in the woods here. Of course there are some people complaining about the restrictions, but those same people seem indifferent in regards to climate change.
We desperately need real action on climate change that is systemic and holds the greatest contributors to climate change accountable for their impact and to change.

We had a beautiful escape to the beach yesterday on the Fundy coast.
Not only were the temperatures cooler, but when we arrived at high tide it was like our own salt water wave pool!

Sorry things aren't shaping up better for your vacay.
There are lots of amazing beaches, where you can get in some great walks. Some places offer kayaking. There are also a few cool public gardens. Tidal bore rafting is fun too.

I've been thinking a bit about my gender identity lately after a couple of weird social interaction.
It's a strange luxury for me to do that because I've come to realize my gender identity is 'person assumed to be male'.
Because of that assumed maleness and being LGBTQ, people will sometimes talk to me thinking I'll concur with their lack of understanding regarding trans/gender diverse people.
I do hope my responses help educate them, but these interactions feel really icky.

We live in a very rural and conservative place and our post office is really the hub of the community.
Every June, our post mistress (an ally) decorates for Pride, and I have to tell you it fills my heart with joy!
In her words, it helps give a lesson to some of the uneducated people around here.

we saved our apple tree from spray with water from tent caterpillars, you have to be really vigilant. I also believe, but lookit up, soapy water helps with aphids

Had to block someone praising/ sharing a screenshot including comments from the person who told me LGBTQ rights are not an election issue, but rather a contentious social issue.
I guess there is no way to stop seeing that person and their ' just asking questions' in support of conservative talking points.

I believe that! I usually plant them in slightly shady areas which keeps them in check. This particular one I did not and it will be moved. I learned from mint 😂😂. Which I planted in a container in the ground and it still broke less. Removing that was a real battle.

it was called the million March for kids, where people gleefully danced on pride flags and harassed people because apparently it's wrong to teach children LGBTQ people exist. PP made supportive comments regarding this group on Twitter after Trudeau tweeted his support for the community.
As for Carney, I'm not sure if he's gone to Pride, but he did support a NB child of his, which is actually better than going to Pride in my books.

if you can go to Advocate Harbour, there is a restaurant there that used to be/may still be rated #1 in NS. The Wild Carraway. They also have a bnb upstairs, right on the bay. If you end up going that way, there are also great kayaking tours on the bay.
