I can't really remember how old I was when I set my dream to someday visit New York. I remember being a teen at school the day the towers were hit. My friend and I took the rest of the day off and sat at my house watching the news which was playing back to back footage of what was happening. 💔
It was unbelievable that could happen.
Anyway, when the memorial was built, I heard it was beautiful and it must have been around that time when I decided I wanted to visit someday.
This year I finally had the opportunity to go. It was a dream come true. 🗽
Approaching the memorial I felt the energy shift. It was surreal to be there. 💛
Later that evening we were able to go up to the top of the World Trade Tower Aspire restaurant. The trip up in that lift was incredible. Watching the New York Skyline grow, seeing the rise of the towers and then blink, they were gone in an instant. It took my breath away. Sometimes I think it's hard to appreciate or even comprehend what a place was like way back in the early days.
Anyway. Just seeing the posts around the internet and work slack today made me reflect on being there. Which inspired this. 💜💜💜

My kids and my family are not my constraints, they are my reason for breaking through all my self imposed limitations 💯
If I demonstrate by travelling as a family, that it isn't hard, I won't pass that bs belief on to my kids. I also am fortunate to travel on a good passport- so recognise international travel isn't as straightforward for everyone. Travel is my freedom.
The key is actually in challenging our own beliefs- our beliefs are the biggest constraints. Freedom is often created from within ✨

Ahh nice! Granada - one of the few provinces left where tapas are gratis with a beer. We stopped in Torrevieja on our way down the coast last time so I'm guessing that is roughly near you. I liked that place!

I change my region frequently using any old address and phone number. If an app has been removed from an app store region, you might need to uninstall before switching regions to reinstall. Yeah legally it's interesting territory. A bit like the banking system in that regard. But I'll explain what they need to know and how to self-custody and navigate the space as underagers. There's always a little loophole & it's only really problematic if they encounter issues using custodial services for the most part 😅

Where we are, on the coast, it isn't too bad - but coming from Asia and tropical climates, I still feel cold a lot. I didn't get warm enough in the Kiwi summer to go swimming in the ocean... And then it becomes cold really fast. We don't get snow where I am currently, although some parts of NZ there is snow. 🙌

Today I visited my dad. He's 74, old school, and doesn't like that I work remotely for a company that pays with Bitcoin (he thinks I should get a real job). 😅
He had the TV news on in the background and there were multiple scenes of money printing flashing across the screen. I mentioned Bitcoin and he tells me my step mum buys Bitcoin. My eyes lit up (I was extremely surprised and didn't expect it at all). 🤩
She's Russian and apparently has been sending bitcoin to her family in Russia for a long time (her parents who must be at least in their 70s or 80s). She had only been using it as a way to send money - until now. I started talking to her about some of the reasons I like Bitcoin. I saw her eyes light up. I think she understood. Hopefully she is going to start stacking too. 🤞🧡
Anyway. I feel like that was an achievement. I could feel the tense energy of my dad as I'm telling his wife all about bitcoin. As much as he was trying to ignore what I was saying, I'm about 85% sure a lot of what I said made sense to him - he's pretty smart. Maybe, just maybe, he will also start looking into bitcoin. 🤞

On this day in 2010 I was a solo mama with two kids under 2. I wrote my dream:
My ten year plan... spend two or three years travelling the world with my two (teenage) kids. Jeez, that'll be mean :)

Fast forward to August 2020, I'm married, blessed with a third child and we were six months into our #digitalnomad life. 🙌
Today we are 4.5 years into slow travelling and #worldschooling with four kids. ✈️
I wish I had made it my five year plan instead of ten. 😅
