Using x to discuss bitcoin is a legitimate vulnerability. Musk and/or US gov can easily tweak the algo, shadowban, pit bitcoiners against each other.
It may sound sensationalist, but think about it, it's possibly one of our greatest vulnerabilities.

Although 50% of the people working on nostr early on were bitcoiners, it was our holiday away from bitcoin. We didnt want it to become a "bitcoin" thing and scare good talented folks away.
Also, micropayments in nostr as zaps went so well together, so that got pushed.

Nostr was never meant to be a bitcoin thing, back in the day you would get booted from the nostr telegram group for talking too much bitcoin (true story).

We have pomegranate, but we need a few more operators and oauth options i think.
I did have a signup generating keys, but its starts to get a bit intimidating for new users. Early days. Something the signup did have was interest based onboard loading tags into the custom feed.
Feeds are also very vanilla, with bunch of filters to keep content safe, but i think that should be the role of this simple client, super vanilla and safe for new users.

Yerp. The site gets up to 1m unique visits per day, and they were being scared away by technobabble.
Initially we didnt want to be seen to capture users, but have decided scaring people away was worse. It's ealy days and still needs work, but its getting pretty usable.
For the historical record, nostr.com actually had the first ever twitter clone on it, back in 2020

Wow Forgejo is great. For LNbits org (180ish repos), it was trvial to create a full mirror that stays updated hosted on our own stack. Still using Github for now, but I hear the Forgejo ci is powerful enough for what we need, so will prob switch across at some point. Eitherway its comforting to have the mirror running 🤗

Had a cracking nightmare last night: played out like a movie. Plot was ai chatbots were actually devil/demons, and that theologically same concerns people have over ouija boards (ie, you dont know what youre talking to) applies to these things we are all chatting away to. After waking a little freaked out, but also like i had watched a decent movie, I did wonder how long it would be before religious groups start thinking about ai in this way, I bet it will happen 🤔
(Ironically my instinct was to get ai to draft a script)

I would say delete is not pointless.
You could argue deleting any post on any public platform is pointless, nostr clients choosing to honor stops propagation, maybe not as effectively as on legacy, but still slows down.

Yes. You set the max fee in the funding source, as you would do connecting directly to your lightning node. The issue with nutshells recent exploit was treating lnbits like a node.

I think ill go the distance with our takedown request, and not comply. The note is fetched client-side, so if they dont want to see the note, they shouldnt fetch from the event id.
If German courts can not differentiate between data hosted on a site, and how nostr works, this will be their opportunity to learn.

This is interesting. We had a takedown request for a post on our njump. We do not host the content, it is pulled from relays using the note id, so it's a bit like blaming a browser for the content after you enter a URL. Any nostr legal council out there?
