Co-sign. The conclusion here is correct: either Schumer is trying to deceive us all or he's so inept that even his own whip steps out of line with impunity. Those are the options, and they're both disqualifying.
For the record, I think he is more deceitful than inept. But, lucky us, both descriptors do apply. Schumer is a glaring symbol of exactly how the Democratic party fails its voters time and again, and he can't resign soon enough for my liking.

Ed Zitron touches on a similar "point" the slop jockeys like to pull out, which is that Amazon spent a ton of money before ever turning a profit. Obviously a terrible analogy for LLMs for the reasons you mention above as well as the fact that LLMs are burning through orders of magnitude more cash than Amazon ever dreamed of back then with far less to show for it, having created essentially nothing.

Molly Conger's "Weird Little Guys" is smart and realistic about what's happening, and she's both sensitive and entertaining in the way she presents her stories. She basically researches right-wing nutjobs of various stripes, so it's not current events, more like true crime...but there's usually some kind of tie-in to what we see happening in our politics today.
Really I'd recommend anything from Cool Zone Media. Margaret Killjoy has a podcast "Cool People Who Did Cool Stuff," which is exactly as advertised. I think she created it to be kind of a mirror image of Robert Evans' "Behind The Bastards," which is about bad people who did bad stuff. Those two podcasts are more casual, but thoroughly researched and usually presented in a conversational style with a smart and/or funny guest.

I like to think I would use that time to fuck The Man, but several years ago when I was very sick (and did not think I would survive) I just bought a bunch of video games and music and consumed as much of it as I could.
I'm not saying that was the best thing for me to do, but I was also living in a place where I didn't know many people and I was unable to work the hours I was used to working and so many other factors that just had me couch-locked. I did get a *lot* of enjoyment out of the nice things I did for myself, but it was all very lonely.
Today I think I would probably take a similar approach, indulging in hobbies, but I would put a lot more effort into making sure it was the ones that can be enjoyed with other people. Other people are what make life amazing.
I hope you have better days ahead and little trouble navigating whatever you're dealing with. :blobcathug:

Been using and learning Linux for like a decade now since it became undeniable that MS wasn't worthy of trust and wasn't interested in taking steps in that direction. I still use Win10 as my primary OS most days, but once support ends, so will my lifelong (since MS-DOS 3.2) relationship with MS.
