I don't know how much I buy the reality of people putting a hamster up their ass. I've owned hamsters. They love to crawl into tiny places. (If your hamster ever escapes and goes under a dishwasher and refuses to come out, just put a cardboard tube under there and it will crawl right in and then you have it trapped.) That's what most of my jobs were. I was the dev getting rushed to ship everything out asap. It was shit code, but it got out there fast, sometimes even the same day.
What's not useful are tards who can barely code and only know how to cobble React plugins. The reason they're not useful is because they're slow, and hiring a swarm of them doesn't make them any faster, it just creates a much larger amount of shit at the slow pace.

This one is more interesting, but not as applicable to my particular situation. They're using a shortcutting version of A* over a pre-calculated and relatively static 3D navigation mesh. It's one of the least bad algorithms for the use case of a shooter. In my case, it's an open 2D world that can be rather dynamic. Maintaining a navigation mesh would be a disaster, not to mention issues of resolution and memory usage.
I'm currently using a taut-string any-angle pathfinding approach for general navigation. It's fast and produces near-optimal paths on large areas of open terrain cluttered with small random obstacles (like trees). I plan to augment this by running a modified A* on the road graph starting from nearby nodes and progressing towards the target location, but pausing when it's worse than the current best taut-string AA path. Further, it needs to be able to interpolate the road graph edges to know when it can enter or leave in the middle of one. Eventually I'll probably need to cache information about various dynamically calculated areas, such as the interior of the palisade, and factor that in too. You can see how they do similar caching with their areas later in the document.
As for their AI system, the details are sparse. They don't say exactly how it works, but it smells like an object-oriented Actor system (yuck).

This is a paper written by a very confused student, I think. For one, he calls it Dijksta's Algorithm, when in fact it's A*, an improvement thereof and easier to type, albeit less pretentious sounding. Second, he's doing a linear search for the closest unvisited node, which is insane for non-trivial node sizes. Third, A* is a graph traversal algorithm which makes little sense in a game like Garry's Mod, save for building a static maze and constructing a navigation mesh for it, which won't work in the general case of the game.

You'd need a fair number of them, considering the large area that satellites now occupy, and that the earth blocks the EMP in that direction. Further, only China, Russia, India, and SpaceX are practically prepared to replace their own strategic satellites, with only China and SpaceX able to do it in less than a decade. For any other nation, they'd lose their spy satellites more or less permanently while SpaceX and China would launch a dozen new ones within a few months, negating the point.
Best Korea largely seems to want to ensure they won't get invaded at some point. Same with Iran.

No, I don't think other countries will respond by glassing the planet, and the few small countries crazy enough to do it only have a handful of nukes and no good way to deliver them.
There have been a couple of times where the order to MAD was given, whether in error or as a secret test, and the men at the silos refused to push the button.
If someone does use a nuke, it'll either be Israel out of some petty spite over some petty ancient goatherder feud with their neighbors, or it'll be the US trying to relive the glory days back when their military was effective. And at most there will be a small, measured response, and that'll be the end of it. Most likely no nuclear response at all, rather global condemnation and conventional war.

Case-law based systems are untenable in a world with computerized paperwork. A 3.25% interest rate is what's causing houses to be expensive. Any interest rate below around 10% will generate inflation. Fixing the housing market means parking interest rates at 18% for a couple decades until prices are back down to a sane ratio to incomes.
