I intensely dislike putzes like Doctorow. Here he claims without any hint of irony or hyperbole that Trump is responsible for Pakistan’s adoption of solar, irrespective of the fact that the deal was freely reached between two independent countries, completely glossing over the fact that the non-white peoples of the world are perfectly capable of making smart deals that advance their own interests without needing a white man to magically make it possible for them. Sad.

I don’t live in that country, but hardly a day goes by that I don’t find myself wondering how Americans put up with this. After so many days of wondering and seeing no sign of an end in sight, one is led to the monstrous, inescapable conclusion that Americans want it this way.
