Haida Gwaii, where I lived with Hubs for 9 years, has had disastrous flooding. Only one road on the whole island (Graham Island) cut through by raging waters, mudslides, streams destroyed, but people taking in those who are stranded, sharing food. that doesn’t work for everywhere or everyone. Military has to use the approved FAX, and that no longer exists. Deployment means address changes. Most are last minute, you don’t get time to go visit Registrar of Voters, so it has to be done online, and what you get has to be FAXED. This is disenfranchise a majority of overseas military.

this was about a thrift store item. Maybe your TL is jumping like mine is. And, FTR, I can see moose meat overloading as a cause. I’ve seen overloading of fish sinking boats. People get greedy. Moose are a lot of meet. The hide alone is over 100 pounds. I got half a hide once and it was 52#. Now, let’s talk about rocks. People leaving Haida Gwaii often overload their luggage with rocks. People can’t resist picking up rocks. Fly that.

When we lived on Haida Gwaii, the Haida are prominent all over the island and their reserves are north and south. Our friends were in both. We noticed the baggies of water over doorways. Hubs ‘assumed’ , so did others, it was some sort of ‘spiritual’ thing so no one asked. I asked. “Keeps the flies out.” They could keep their doors open and the flies stayed out. There were no flies in those homes. Just ask and the world opens up, lol.

I noticed these bottle on a guy’s lawn in Santa Cruz, by my friend’s home. Curious, I walked up one day and asked him. He told me. His bottles (2) protected about 4 lawns, lol. Now, wanna hear about the baggies of water over doorways? Stops flies. Even funnier story behind finding out what that was. I’m a curious person and will ask questions. Always learn something.

*Curtsies* I also know a really neat trick for keeping dogs from crapping on your lawns. Place a plastic jug (clear or translucent) half filled with water every 20 - 40 ft. Not in line. I don’t know why this works but it does. You can move them every so often so you don’t kill the lawn under them, but dogs will avoid your yard

The tech replaced the gateway (router) unit, and the PVR— they were apparently tripping each other into OFF position. It’s like these electronics were having an argument with each other:
“Fine”
“Fine”
“Not Fine”
“bye”
“Wait!”
“fine”
“OFF”
We turn it on again, and the cycle repeats.
The tech kept shaking his head.

It’s been a hella 3 days for me and tech.
Started having computer issues. Sending attachments via email or message or text… was iffy. It would lock up my computer/tablet/phone. Then the TV quit working… then things started to work, then quit, and then shit started bouncing back. I’d resend. Wouldn’t go through. Some then looped and they got dozens or duplicates… tech was here all day…fixed all of it.. then the sound quit on the TV. Now, we have sound— sort of.

They are delicious. I used to gather them. Spell check wouldn’t let me use the ‘e’… LOL. Morels are my favorite and Chanterelles. But the porcini are incredibly tasty. My neighbors picked oyster mushrooms and shaggy manes. That island was an incredible edible feast of delicacies. I do miss that part. A place where no one goes hungry. That was an amazing picture you took.

None in the USA reaches over 45% One can get up to 50% but for only a brief time. Also in the US, they are built for a 30 year cycle, tops… I mean, what’s the point? So Bechtel can be billionaires on their constant building, running, monitoring, maintaining? BTW, Bechtel is global and yet qualifies as “Small Business” for tax purposes because only a handful are not ‘contracted workers’. It’s been a few years. Are they still running it all?
