Also, more details about General Relays would be appreciated. They seem to do more than just downloading content (e.g., Amethyst sends notes to General Relays unless you disable the ⬆️ option).

Derek, noob question if you don't mind: in clients such as Amethyst, should WoT relays like yours be configured only for General, Inbox, and DM (i.e., to avoid inbound spam)? Or should we also configure them for Outbox, Search, etc.?

I encourage you to self-host using a PoE-enabled lighting node. Just be careful when zapping Americans from Europe - 240V zaps may blow their lighting nodes. 😂

I agree with the use case, but not with the "stress-free" experience.
The average advice about Bitcoin on Nostr is: Buy dedicated hardware, self-host a full Bitcoin node + a Lightning node with a self-hosted Lightning address linked to your own domain, then open proper channels and make sure to rebalance them often so I can Zap you 21 sats for memes every once in a while. ¯\(ツ)/¯🙃

Let’s say you have two accounts: A and B.
In account A, you configure Citrine as your only Outbox relay and write a few notes.
For account B to read your notes, it needs to be properly set up to connect to your Citrine relay (this is often referred to as an "App" or "General" relay, depending on your client).
For anyone else to see your notes, they would also need to add your Citrine relay, which requires exposing it to the internet. There are some posts circling around with instructions on how to do this over Tor, but how safe is it? Honestly, I’m not sure. I haven't heard anything from Citrine’s creator, but it could be worth experimenting with.
In my opinion, the main advantage of Citrine is having a local copy of your notes to improve performance. I wouldn’t rely on it as my only Outbox relay

Hi Vitor, understood. Just to clarify my question: you mentioned that when there are no relays set in the Public Outbox/Home session, Amethyst publishes notes to general servers.
My questions are:
1. What does clicking the "Home" icon in the general session do?
2. Assuming I don't have "nos.lol"in the Public Outbox/Home session (but I do have other relays), and I have it in the General Relays session with the "Home" icon enabled, does "nos.lol" still receive a copy of my notes?

Vitor, could you clarify the difference between a Home relay and a General relay with thr "Home" activated?
For instance, if I set my own relay as Home but keep nostr.lol as a general relay with the "home" option enabled, will nostr.lol still get a copy of my notes?

Nice. Yeah, for self-hosted private relays, PoW doesn't make much sense other than for learning purposes (although @nprofile…al0v mentioned something about people spamming follow requests as well). Out of curiosity, which relay are you using for PoW-verified notes? Nostream? Denostr? I haven't found many implementations claiming to support NIP-13 yet.

Yep, it's spamming every unprotected relay on Nostr at the moment. Depending on your client, you can filter by keyword to avoid seeing the spam. Private or WoT relays are likely the way forward.

O Jack Dorsey não faz mais parte do board da Bluesky e fechou a conta dele por lá. Ele também doou uma grana para o Fiatjaf (criador do Nostr, que para quem não conhece, também é brasileiro). Além da ajuda financeira, ele é bem ativo aqui no Nostr, posta frequentemente, participa de eventos, etc.

Folks are very polite on the other side of the Mostr bridge :). Out of curiosity, is this sort of interaction frowned upon by the Nostr community, or do most people appreciate Mostr? I've been using the Mostr bridge for quite a while and only recently joined Nostr. I have to admit, I wouldn’t even know about Nostr if it weren't for the bridge.
