This is certainly still possible at the local level, for invested communities. Something I’m very passionate about. At the regional or national level I’m not sure there’s any salvation from the digital tribalism and overwhelming focus on issues of irrelevance to the actual world in which constituents live. British Columbia to perma-ban the crypto industry from its electricity grid, and data centers will have to compete for power allocation every two years. Although as we are also in the process of dismantling property rights I doubt any serious business would want to take the risk anyway.
