Poop and predators! Luckily the poop turns to awesome compost, but sometimes a challenge to get the poop out of there. And owls, hawks, and cats are sometimes a problem around here.

I built a coop! I wanted to find a way to seperate our new chicks and mama hen from the rest of the flock, while making sure the chicks were protected from predators. Our chickens are free range and last year we had issues with the neighborhood cats swooping our baby chicks. So far they are loving it! 8 out of the 11 eggs hatched. Life is good.

Receiving my first bitcoin payment feels very special to me. What an honor to trade my handcrafted goods for real money. Over the years I ran the rat race of receiving fiat by attending many farmers markets and making sales through Instagram. When you buy a candle at the store, more than likely it will be a candle made out of paraffin wax. This type of wax is cheap for companies to use, but filled with many health risks. Paraffin wax is known to cause respitory issues and other long term health problems due to all the added chemicals in the wax. When choosing which type of wax to use for my candles, soy wax appeared to be a healthy alternative.
Here are a few benefits of soy wax:
- Slower and cleaner burn, less soot
- Stronger fragrance retention
- Free of synthetic additives and harsh chemicals
- Plant based
- Biodegradable
Plus the soy wax I use is from soy beans grown in the US.
Would definitely recommend replacing your paraffin candles for some Mountain Top soy wax candles 😝
