one of my closest IRL friends (who also works in health care) got me a mini bright light therapy light for my birthday last year, which i'm finally getting around to using, and don't get me wrong - i'm thankful for such a thoughtful gift! - but also it makes me laugh because it feels a little like "happy birthday my chronically depressed friend, here's an evidence-based therapy for you to try" XD
