Figures, lately I've been looking up acronyms in those acronym databases and not finding anything remotely relevant and figured it would the same since it seemed like a niche topic that only people with as much in depth knowledge about electronics like you have would be aware of.
That's good to know that there are some basic and easy to digest manuals out there for this stuff. The practice tests for the basic HAM license seemed like easy common sense stuff but I would like to know the principles behind this so I can improvise if I need to but also do so without ending up with the equivalent knowledge base and time spent that someone with an Electrical Engineering degree would have.

I live in a hilly area with a lot of tree so that is probably a good thing and a bad thing sometimes.
For a background, I just bought these when they were trying to pass a law or did pass a law that only licensed operators could buy HAM radios and bought them before it was supposed to pass just in case. I heard the baofengs were decent starter radios and figured I'd mess around with them and upgrade later on after I got my license. I watched some videos and read a little before buying the specific models I bought but it's been probably 4 or 5 years now so I don't remember my reasoning for getting those models.
As far as antennas go, I was thinking the same as you - buy a nice antenna now and upgrade the radios later and keep using the good antenna. I have a mounting kit to mount a roof rack on my SUV and was planning on hard mounting it to the roof rack but getting on that can fold down for when I drive through the forest so it doesn't smack around into the trees. I also thought about getting a magnetic one and making water tight quick connects and heyco grommets for it so I could remove it when I'm not using it. Haven't tried to use the one in my SUV yet because I've heard it is bad to try and transmit without an antenna and I don't have the cable and CHIRP program to upload the frequencies to it.
What I'm wanting to do is buy a nice setup for home, one for my SUV, and have a couple of handhelds to use and use my baofengs as a backup or give them to someone else until they get a better setup. Are there any specific bands/frequencies I need to make sure that my radios are compatible with?
I'm pretty sure that there are repeater stations that I can program into my radios but I'd like to have something with some reach just in case those repeaters or some of them go down during a SHTF situation. I figure a lot of HAM operators probably are preppers too now and have backup generators and such though.
This stuff isn't super complicated but it is definitely not something you're going to learn on the fly if SHTF so I want to practice and maybe get licensed so I'm comfortable using it before I actually need to use it.
There is a guy on YouTube called "Risky Chrisky" that has some interesting HAM/communication videos but I've only seen a few of his videos.
Sounds like I'll just look into getting Yaesu or Kenwood since I think they're both made in Japan and good quality. Probably Yaesu over Kenwood since you said they're more durable right?

Most people in the army make better than minimum wage when you factor in the benefits and the fact that you don't have to pay for the housing that you don't even want to be living in but the only time you'll be able to blow money on shit like that is with bonuses and unless you make good choices in what you buy you'll regret blowing your money later on.
I bought a vehicle with my bonus and a friend bought a bunch of firearms and saved the rest. Lots of guys blew their money in bars and stuff though.

I got some baofeng radios when they were talking about banning sale to unlicensed ham operators so I'm kinda interested in that type of stuff.
Might get my license next year if only for the practice it will give me in being proficient at it before I actually need to use it. It'd be a very steep learning curve to try and learn it during a "SHTF" type of situation.

The EU may not be responsible for much of anything power wise but they protect things with food purity laws. If you want to say that the individual countries are more responsible for that then I'll take your word for it. Either way it proves that it isn't the regulatory agencies that are the issue, it is the people paying them off and subverting them since Europe doesn't seem to have as big of an issue with that and their regulatory agencies that America does.
Capitalism is also to blame and European countries have culture/traditions that haven't been attacked as much, at least from what I've seen, as they have been in the USA so maybe that is also part of it. The racial solidarity of not allowing other races, even though they are also White, is something that is lacking in the USA as well.
Like your example with French and Italians not wanting something that isn't up to their standards being imported from Germany, America doesn't really do that because they would consider it racist. I think he either wants them to take over the farms since they're probably a little better at it than the Russians so that it frees up Russians to fight or maybe he hopes they'll feel guilty about Russia taking them in and become patriotic and volunteer to fight.

I hope someone does something to help them out and if Putin takes them in with no strings attached then I'll be happy for them. If you watch any of the youtube channels that interview special forces types, especially the ones who were fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan 10-15 years ago, almost all of them can't stand the way things are going in regard to the government.
These are the same guys who were trained to set up rebellions and coups in other countries. Other countries who had less armed people and less people fed up with their governments.
I'd assume a great majority of the good pilots feel that way too, especially with the recent "stop loss" type stuff happening to their contracts.

Putin is a great guy and this wouldn't have anything to do with needing more soldiers to fight in the war considering the fact that this idea was "floated" 5 years or so ago when things got pretty bad in south africa and some of the US politicians were talking about it as well.

We all have stuff we can improve on. As long as we're making progress things will work out.
I'm closer to 40 than I am to 30 at this point. I'm not down on the younger guys because a lot of them figured out stuff like the JQ earlier than I did, of course it wasn't as common back when I was that age so that's partly why, but the thing that gets me is the guys who get blackpilled on everything.
I hate seeing it. Things are tough but as long as they don't give up things will eventually work out alright.

Weed is safer than both in the long term and generally the short term.
Weed addicts are a lot more mellow than alcoholics and the smoke smells better than cigarette smoke usually so as long as it doesn't make you lazy and interfere with other parts of your life then I'm cool with people doing it. It's not for me though, at least not anymore. I only tried it legally and under legal circumstances and I'll say that it does help you get a good nights sleep if you use it correctly and legally under legal circumstances.

I'm not sure what that is supposed to mean but if you're saying I'm silly or a coward for not being a "lone wolf" then you could apply the same to yourself.
Right now the most important things are to have as big a family as you can and educate people about jewish power. Once enough people are educated it will be like 1930s Germany again.

Why would I bother doing anything like that?
The best think you can do now is have a large family and raise you children the right way. Fighting harder means taking steps to make sure my family is in a better position.
No political regime has lasted nearly as long as the DNA inside me has. I have traces of DNA that go back to the beginning of mankind. So do you.
