Do you think we could create a “Kind” or a NIP that helps us create a resume with career, jobs etc like Linkedin on Nostr?
I have the json format of a “linkedin profile”.
If I want to create a NIP called LinkedinNostrProfile so people can move their whole Linkedin profile to Nostr where can I propose that NIP? And how would I implement that?
I need to just load that json somewhere and use it in Nostr. Lateron I need to add to that profile so I need to store it in a database somewhere.

⏰⌚️⏳⏳🕰️🕛 The Time Machine of Fiat Currency
My father used to work for 100 USD a day 20 years ago. 8 hours, 100 USD.
He gave me 100 USD 20 years ago.
He had a friend, John, and John also had 100 Dollars. John gave his daughter a golden coin 20 Years ago. Lets assume that that golden coin was 100 dollars 20 years ago.
Enter the time machine. Imagine both men had a time machine, travelling 20 years in the future. Imagine my father putting the 100 USD in his time machine and it arriving today.
I pick up the 100 USD.
How much value did I get? Is this the same 100 USD? Yes.
But can I BUY the same amount if stuff with it?
No!
Why not?
Because they printed Trillions more of it. That’s why it’s purchasing power decreased.
The purchasing “power” or energy leaked.
My father worked 8 hours to get that 100 USD but his time didn’t make it.
With the rule of 72 you can calculate that if they created 7% more dollars every year, that in 72/7% = 10 years, half of the purchasing power leaked.
The US dollar leaked purchasing power.
It leaked half of my father’s 8 hours.
So after 10 years in the time machine only 50 dollars of purchasing power arrived or 4 hours of my father.
After another 10 years again half of my father’s time leaked. Or 25 dollars our of the 100 dollars of my father.
After 20 years I his son opened the Time machine of my father and picked up the 100 USD .
I only got 25 USD in purchasing power or 2 hours of my father’s work.
You see: by printing fiat currency at the rate of 7% per year… they stole 6 hours of my father or 75 USD.
Now imagine the friend of my father who converted his 8 hours of work into a golden coin and gave it to his daughter.
During 20 years the amount if gold has only increased with 1.5% per year.
72/1,5 = 48.
It will take 48 years until the golden coin’s purchasing power decreases by half.
So after 20 years there is still some time in that time machine for that daughter.
The daughter can pick up the golden coin and spend maybe 7 hours of her father.
Gold doesn’t leak time. Or energy.
Why?
Because they cannot print it like they want.
It costs energy to “print gold”. It costs energy to produce gold. And they cannot produce it at a rate of say 7% per year like they have been doing with US dollars (= fiat currency).
Now I give that 100 dollar of my father, worth 25 dollars to YOU.
You give it to your son or daughter in 20 years. You also have a time machine. You also can travel to the time machine. That traveling is called “Saving”.
Yes, when you save that is exactly what you are doing. Saving is using a time machine.
How much of that 25 USD ( remember the bill still says 100 USD, but we know that it’s purchasing power is really 25 USD and it’s decrease of value is USD 75), how much will your sun reveive in 20 years? How much of the 2 hours of my father’s time?
6.25 dollars or 50 cents!!! Remember every 10 years the value is cut by half.
25> 12.5 in 10 years (or 2 hours > 1 hour in 10 years)
And 12.5 > 6.25 in another 20 years (or 1 hour >0.5 dollar in 10 years)
Enter Bitcoin
If in 2014 I had jumped in that time machine and picked up that 100 USD, which was maybe 50 usd in purchasing power amd bought Bitcoins with it.
How much purchasing power would I have had now? How much hours of my father (4 hours left when I opened that time machine) would I have “created”?
You see: bitcoin is a FIXED supply.
They cannot create it at 7% per year!
They create it at a decreasing pace.
First we could create it at 50 per 10 min. After 4 years at 25 per 10 min. Then at 12.5 per 10 min. Then at 6.25 per 10 min.
It is harder to create Bitcoin every 4 years!
So unlike the US dollar it is harder to steal your energy every 4 years.
It gets 50% HARDER to steal your energy every 4 years.
Or technically your purchasing power DOUBLES every 4 years.
Or your time DOUBLES every 4 years.
So if I picked my father’s 100 USD after 10 years and it was worth 50 USD or 4 hours, and changed it into Bitcoin,
I would have STOPPED the decrease of his time.
I would have gotten 8 hours back after 10 years. So now I got 8 hours of my father.
And if I give it to my son he would have 16 hours in 4 years. 32 hours in 8 years.
Because Bitcoin becomes scarcer while they print more US dollars.
I’m not speculating about the doubling of Bitcoin’s value after each 4 years.
Do your own research. Don’t trust me.
But Bitcoin has this feature of being capped at 21 million.
So it can stop the leakage if your time.
It is scarcer than gold.
It is programmed like that.
Bitcoin can hold your value accross time.

How can you use python to learn fast from interesting Youtube interviews: my step-by-step process
Hey if you know python, or you are interested in knowing what you can do with "programming" and why you should learn it, here is my path. I also show you how to use AI to speed up your growth
**Video Captions**
You know that there are video captions below a lot of the videos on Youtube right? Look at this video where Michael Saylor is talking with Natalie Brunell.
First there is a python library (that is just a piece of open source code) that you can download these captions.
You just need the video url and the video code and this library helps you download the captions and you save it in your folder.
**What you need**
For this you of course need to know a bit of python and you need a tool like Anaconda environment to be able to do this on your computer. Anaconda is here: https://www.anaconda.com/download-success
But if you do not have Anaconda and you have gmail you can also do this in a Google Colab. See here https://colab.research.google.com/
And for python you would need to know pandas, how to create a function, you need to know how to ask questions on Stackoverflow.com . https://stackoverflow.com/questions/tagged/python. This is the community who can help you solve problems with your code.
**What can you do when you have downloaded these captions on your computer?**
A. You can first read this transcript and understand how Saylor describes what is happening. You can learn a lot about this. You want to try to understand what key terms he uses. Like demand, duration, assets etc.
Even if you read this and understand how he thinks this will help you think for yourself about global macro.
That is how I use it.
**Analyze it with Artificial intelligence.**
Now this is going to step up your game.
I discovered a language model called Spacy. https://spacy.io/usage/models
Why would you need this?
Now I use it to analyze the transcripts. I coded this in python and I'm using Spacy to analyze the transcript of the video.
Imagine having an assistant that marks all the companies mentioned in the transcript, or all the people, or every time Michael and Natalie mentioned a number, or when they mentioned "increase" or "decrease". Or when they mentioned a company!! This happens in less then 10 seconds!! For a video of 1 hour!!! Which human assistant can do that!!
That is exactly what I do with Spacy. I'm just starting with it and I'm thrilled. What you can do is convert the whole text of the transcript into a html document (a website on your computer) where you see all the "people" mentioned in the transcript say in green and the numbers in red, and the times in orange.
Why would you want this? Because now you can scan very fast into the document. You can get a list of all the companies he is talking about. And all the indicators etc.
**How can you use this?**
Imagine you want to know what to invest in, apart from Bitcoin. Every time Michael in this case mentioned a company, you can analyze what he says about it. Every time he talks about an asset like a bond, you can look in the text and see what he says about it.
**Scaling this up**
Imagine you have a list of youtube videos of Michael, of other bitcoiners and they are talking. You can create python code that automates getting this information and you get a colored html document including persons, companies etc.
If you are an investor or you are an individual and you want to know how to synthesize this information available you can now sit back and the code is doing it for you.
We could do this for other sources also. When there is a python library that can scan nostr, habla.news etc and get the information you could be able to use Spacy etc and other language models to help you understand the world around you.

7% inflation is like some stinky dirty fiat rats eating your cheese
Today we recieved the inflation numbers of the Central Bureau of Statistics for our country. I live in a Caribbean island where the fiat currency is pegged to the dollar!
This post will help you wherever you live. In Europe, Portugal, Argentina.
Our inflation numbers were 7% in may!! 7% compared to one year earlier.
Say Cheese
What does this mean?
It means that we are living in a world of stinky dirty inflation mice and rats. And they love cheese. And the cheese is your purchasing power. Inflation is just some dirty fiat rats who love to eat away your purchasing power cheese.
And that number of 7% is just telling you how big their teeth are. And at what rate they are eating.
Rule of 72
There is a rule of 72 that experienced investors know. It basically says that if you hold an asset and inflation is say 7% you divide the 72 by the inflation number and you get the number of years that the purchasing power of your asset gets cut in half.
In our case if I had 10.000 of my currency and I turn it into dollars and I get say 5000 dollars it means that in 10.2 years the stinky inflation rats would have eaten my purchasing power of my cheese into half. I now only got 2500 dollars of purchasing power or 5000 of my currency.
So I quickly calculated the number of sats and about 19 million sats is another way to storing my purchasing power.
Sat is like digital steel. Stinky fiat rats bite their teeth in steel and the can’t eat away my purchasing power cheese.
Where do you store your purchasing power?
Ask the people of Argentina or Venezuela or Zimbabwe. In Argentina they got some really aggressive stinky fiat rats eating away your purchasing power agressively at a rate of 90% per year!!!
Yeah you read it right 90%. Here the rule of 72 is turned on its head. Because if you divide 72 by 90 you got 0.8 year. If you mutiply that by 12 you got 9.6 months.
So imagine this: your Argentinian wife is pregnant. You are happy!! Your first child. You saved 5000 dollars of your blood and sweat in the fiat thing called Argentinian pesos. Just to save for the house or buying baby stuff and redecorate the pink room. Congrats your wife is expecting a baby girl.
Just after your Argentinian girl Barbara is born, the dirty argentinian fiat rats would have eaten half of the purchasing power of her money. Barbara has to now live with 2500 dollars worth of fist argentinian pesos!!
I guess Barbara won’t love that. The mice and rats ate her baby lunch. Her college grant.
Argentina is just an example. There are many countries where this is happening. This is also happening in the USA. All countries in the world have stinky dirty fiat rats!
In these economic environments with 90% inflation people turn crazy.
The don’t save. No matter how hard you work you cannot esrn more fiat money faster enough to cope with what the stinky rats are eating.
People and businesses become crazy.They spend like crazy. They buy everything double. Two bags of rice instead of one. Two cans of paint instead of one. Two toilet papers instead of one. Because they know that fiat money is actually the same as toilet paper.
The only difference between toilet paper and fiat money is the trust in the central bank and the government of that nation.
And when that trust disappears because the central bank turns on the printer like bbrrrr the trust disappears and fiat money’s value goes to 0. Like toilet paper.
Toilet paper and stinky dirty hungry rats. Remember that combination!!
So what now?
I guess watch your Central Bureau of Statistics. Subscribe to their newsletter about inflation. So you get the news as first about at wat rate the stinky fiat rats are eaten away this month. And at what rate compared to last year.
If you see numbers like 7% as I saw today you now know how to use rule of 72 to know the number of years. The Central Bureau of Statistics is your best friend. They are like the pest control department. They tell you about the rats so you can protect your cheese.
Sats cannot be eaten. You also saw why it might be good to stack sats. The rats do not like sats. And because sats are scarce they can better hold your value on the long run. Especially when the people holding fiat realize what I just decribed and they all run to the door to the room called bitcoin. 99% of the world is still putting their cheese ourside and letting the rats enjoy their meal. Only 1% of the world has currently decided to store part of their cheese in sats.

I mean what is money? I mean what does debt of a country has to do with inflation? How does the global economic system work and the system of your country? Those are the main topics I write about.

R5 the new currency/bank of the BRICS and its impact on the value of your sats

The R is because the names of all the currencies of the existing 5 members of the BRICS, Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Arfrica starts with R. R5 could be a currency or it could be a bank. Just like the International Monetary Fund- the IMF. Or the Worldbank.
I would watch the developments of that link to see what the countries are doing? Why?
Because currently all these countries are using the SWIFT system to trade dollars. Excluding Russia because it was banned due to the war in Ukraine. To buy services and goods internationally you need to have access to dollars. So there is a demand for dollars and demand means the value of the dollar compared to other currencies increases.
The BRICS are thinking about creating their own R5 bank and international payment system. This means that they won’t demand more dollars to trade their services and goods. And that means that there will be less demand for dollars. If people know this they will be going away from dollars and buying anything precious and scarce. Gold, but also sats. So stack sats.
Currently the trade between the R5 countries is not so big. But it is growing. Russia buys from India. China buys gas and oil from Russia. Because they are looking for an alternative to the dollar, the R5 currency, they will trade more and more in each other’s currencies. Brazil is one of the largest commodity exporters and meat. The world needs food and commodities. So there will be more and more demand for R5 instead of the dollar. So the value of the dollar will decrease against these currencies. And again people will be looking for something of value. Sats. Stack sats.
In international trade when you trade and you export more than you import your international reserves will grow. Now most central banks have their international reserves in dollars. China got a huge pile of dollars sitting at its central bank. Why? Because China exports more to the USA than it imports. So in the end it recieves more dollars (because it ecports goods) than it spends (because of import of goods). This huge current account surplus of China to the USA has been going on for ages. USA has a huge current account DEFICIT with China.
This has weakened the USA economy. Normally this deficit would translate into dollars flowing out of the USA. And the USA currency decreasing. Just imagine the USA didn’t have the global printer of the dollar. Imagine USA just had a currency called U. Because the USA has such a huge current account deficit with China the value of the U would decrease.
And nobody eould want the U any more. You would see the people having the U comming to exchanges and saying I want to give you 200, 500, 1000, 5000 U for just 1 sat!!!
That happens all over the world. With the Venezuelan bolivar, the Zimbabwan dollar.
Because the BRICS know this, that you have to look at what’s happening with the real economy, you have to watch things like current account deficits and the huge debt of the USA and that fiat money like the USA dollar is just based on trust, and because they want to be less dependent on Europe and the USA now they are creating a basket of their own currencies the R5.
The BRICS’economies are now larger than the G7 countries. The 7 biggest countries in the Western world. These are developped countries. USA, Canada etc are part of this club. And now 5 emerging market economies of the BRICS are bigger than the top 7 developped countries.
The BRICS are growing faster than the G7. Because they are less wealthier. They have more to grow. And the BRICS have commodities, precious metals.The stuff the world needs to function. When Russia decreased its gas to Germany the German industry of steel suffered. You need gas and oil to run a factory. To produce cars you need oil, energy and a lot of materials.
This means the R5 countries will grow on the international stage. Other cluntries like Saudi Arabia - one of the large oil producers - also want to join. And a lot of African countries and Asian countries would join.
The countries on the list to join R5 have a large size of the global population. They are in the mayority. And their populations are growing faster than the Western developped countries.
Are their economies developped? Yes. China is advanced in AI, in manufacturing. China is the global factory of the world and it has developped its technology fast. Huge public companies like Alibaba, Tencent etc have their base in China.
What does this mean to you stacker of sats?
I’ll break it down for you.
You should see if you could deliver value to the BRICS. Do you have any service, or product you can trade to the BRICS. Any technological, IT software? They will be needing it. And you probably will receive R5 for it. That’s their currency.
Your children will grow up in a world where the power has partially moved to the BRICS. It is not an uni polar world - one pole the USA - but a multi polar world - BRICS dominating the East/South and USA dominating the North/West.
There will be a pressure on the USA dollar. Remember the U. People will understand there is a difference between the US dollar and the U. And people will be searching for digital gold. The sat. Stack sats and teach your children to stack sats.
The R5 will be just a bunch of fiat paper floating against each other in a basket. The BRICS can always print as many R5 as they want. It is just like the Bretton Woods in 1944 where the Western workd cane together and decided the dollar will be the center and all other currencies will be pegged to the dollar. And the base layer 1 is gold.
Now the BRICS will probably add a base layer 1 of gold, maybe oil and other commodities. But they can always print R5 to infinity. History tells they will do this in another 80 years. Check Ray Dalio’s book if you want some history.
So R5 will attract more people. There will be more demand for R5 and there will be less demand for the USA dollar. This will be gradually. When the dollar’s price drops a lot of islands and countries dependent on the dollar will suffer. Like many Caribbean islands.
Especially the ones importing everything from the USA as inflation in dollars will soar. And especially the Caribbean islands dependent on Cruise and Stayover tourism . And cruise tourism from the G7.
In these panick decreases of the dollar, eg people realizing they are working hard and receiving the U which is just paper, people will look for something scarce. And there is where your sats will probably become more valuable.

We NEED to teach our people to be financially resilient.
I’m talking about delivering value to the world for “money”. Between quotes because it is not what you think. I’ll just tell you later.
We need to teach our kids, youth to deliver value to the world “ouside” our islands.
We need to raise our ambition and sell whatever we have film, beauty, knowledge, history, food, recepies of grandma, anything.
Why? Are we selling ourselves?
Because otherwise we cannot eat. Because otherwise we cannot pay our electric bills. We cannot pay fuel for our cars.
That is basic.
So we need to have a mindset of “trading” with the world. For a high price.
We are not cheap. You can’t simply come to our islands and play us against each other. Oh if Barbados is too expensive I go to Bermuda, to Grenada, Jamaica.
There is a price for a beautiful beach walk. There is a price to taste Grandma’s chicken curry.
Now about money. Today I started writing somewhere on a blogsite.
Where they pay me SOUND money.
Sound means it is not fiat dollar bills that can be printed by just pressing the global printer. The central bank printer every central bank has.
You know the one the FED has, and the European central bank has.
They pay me in sats.
Everybody reading my economic stories pay me in sats. If I comment on somebody’s story I pay 1 sat.
In just 2 hours of posting an economic article about the gobal macro economic landscape I got 890 sats.
While most posts got 25 sats.
I’m flabbergasted.
There is your proof. From an island I deliver my value - in this case understanding how the global macro economic system works and how the economic system of islands and countries works. And I got 890 stats.
I have built a macro economic system of Turks and Caicos and I’m currently in the last phase of launching it. For governments and then the private sector.
But at the same time I’m using that knowledge to sell to the world!!
Now you say sats. What is that?
1 bitcoin is 100 million sats!!
1 bitcoin is currently 29.000 us dollars.
So 890 sats is 0.26 usd.
Are you crazy? You wrote a whole economic article for just 0.26 usd?
Here is the truth.
I made it in 2 hours. I wrote it in 5 minutes maybe 10.
I didn’t watch Facebook for 10 minutes. And I earned SOUND money.
And that post will continue to see eyeballs for ever.
And I posted it on my own blog where it can never be taken down.
And here is the best part.
There is a limited amount of sats. Sats like bitcoin cannot be produced out of thin air.
I cannot tell you all the story in just this post.
But 1 sat is like a grain of GOLD.
It cannot be just made out of thin air. You cannot just find it on a beach of Tuks and Caicos, Grenada or Barbados!!
Sats are the single unit mos elementary piece of digital real estate.
If you undestand this and your kids understand this single thing you are on your way for financial freedom.
Today I just got a grain of gold. I traded my knowledge just living on an island for a grain of gold. Digital gold.
Digging gold on the beach. Not even digging the beach. Digging inside myself and offering my value to the world amd being thanked by a grain of digital gold.
There are only 100 million people out of the 8 billion global population who have some piece of this digital gold.
Something close to 1%.
And every 10 minutes digital gold is being mined.
Today I got my 890 sats. A grain.
But it is a start.
To be financially resilient on small islands I bet you start trading your knowledge for digital gold. Because the fiat dollar and Euro is,… just a piece of paper.

Global Macro/USA/Chinese wconomy and why you need to stack sats
I’m going to write a series of reflections about the USA economy, still the largest economy but challenged by the Chinese economy.
And also some reflections about the state of other economies in the world. And how this impacts the value of sats.
Because we want to stack sats and know why we do this. Stacking sats against a background of developments in the USA economy and the other ones challenging it.
What are some developments I see now that could influence the sats?
BRICS. The BRICS are a group of large countries not part of the West. Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
Together their economies are slightly larger then the G7. The top 7 industrialized Western economies. I created a graph about the development of the G7 compared to the BRICS and compared to Europe. BRICS are not larger then Europe.
Now Saudi Arabia is wanting to join the BRICS or at least trade with them. This means that there will be less demand for US dollars. As Saudi Arabia is one of the top countries exporting oil to the world. And those oil sales are settled in dollars. What will happen with those dollars when nobody wants them? They will go home back to USA in chase of goods and services. That means inflation. The purchasing power of the dollar dropping. And people would want to change the dollar for something scarce. Sats. It means you will get less sats for your dollars. So that is why you need to stack sats now!
Let me know what you think about the BRICS and how that could impact the sats. Ans I will go deeper on the economic mechanisms of a stronger BRICS.
The next development that I want to put on our desk is the USA debt. It stands now at 129% debt to GDP. This means if you earn 100 dollars in a whole year (your Gross Domestic Product or your annual income) as USA you have a debt of 129 dollars. Your debt to gdp is your debt divided by your gdp. For small island nations and for European countries the maximum debt to gdp target is 60%. Above 60% you will get a visit of the International Monetary Fund telling you you have to cut you expenses or grow your economy or raise your taxes. To lower your debt to gdp to sustainable levels.
Almost every country in the world, except Japan, with such a high debt to gdp ratio - above 100% -ultimately defaults on their debt. When they default their currency weakens. So they have to pay much more of their money for 1 sat. That is why their citizens stack sats as soon as their debt increases. Almost every country with debt to gdp higher than 100% defaults and see the value of their currency decrease against sats. Argentina did. Venezuela did. Zimbabwe did. Many others will do, keep reading and you will fins out why.
USA can keep such a high debt to gdp ratio of 129% and peojected to increase further in the future, because it prints the global currency everybody trades in. It has the magic printer of the greenback. Some people in the USA believe they don’t need to stack sats because they can print the dollar.. But the BRICS and other nations are awakening and starting to say:”we don’t want your paper dollar for our physical goods, oils, minerals, cars”.
There is where trust in the dollar starts to diminish. And trust in the sats could increase. There is nobody with a global printer of sats. Nobody can print sats out of air.
Question:
I’m curious what you think about this scenario with the debt. Will it be sustainable for another year, another 5 years, 10 years? In the meanwhile, stack sats.
Linked to this is a thing called The Reset. Resetting the global debt. When things get reset assets and liabilities get wiped out. Wealth moves from some to others. If you own bonds as assets and the debt gets wiped out or reset your net worth could change. Some assets like stocks, gold etc could retain their value. Also the asset sat could gain in value as people move out of money, out of bonds etc in search for digital real estate. This reset is also linked to the CBDC. Central bank Digital Currency.
You will own nothing and you will be happy is the slogan of the reset. Could you imagine what that would mean on a global scale?
I’m an economist and I build economic simulation models. These are tools to simulate what could happen. I have built such models for a dozen small island nations.
It is more difficult to build these models for small island nations than for large economies like the USA, China or BRICS. Because for small island nations there is a lack of data. While for large countries there is plenty of data.
I’m in the process of creating such a model for the USA economy, Chinese economy and maybe BRICS. All BRICS together or all the 5 countries separately and added together.
With these models you cut right through the noise. You see the big interrelationships between the economic areas in an economy. You have all the relevant data right in front of you. You can compare countries and you can create a view of the future. Where is it going.
Based on these models you could simulate what happens if say Saudi Arabia decides to accept a BRICS currency instead of the USA dollar.
You could see how the deficit on the current account of the USA (deficit means imports are larger than exports) will widen. And you could see how inflation would increase and its impact on purchasing power of the USA population.
These are just some indicators to show you what you could do and what scenarios you could run.
I want to add the value of the sats in terms of dollars in terms of the price of gold etc to these models. So we could see if it is good to stack sats in each scenario.

Nostr for Linkedin: is it possible?
Nostr is an open communication protocol. Linkedin is a closed system to share your career history.
People should own their data.
How could Nostr help people show their skills to the world?
I guess we could use Nostr to show our resume. To show about projects we worked on. But we need to be able to only show certain people we want our data.
If you are a potential customer I should be able to give you access to some of my projects I worked on.
Then you would ask if those projects were real. I should be able to show you proof of work. Maybe other Nostr users that can prove that I did work for them. They signed a message stating that I did the work well.
Then you need proof of my certifications. If I say I studied at this university you need proof of work from me that I got that degree.
But Nostr cannot be just a copy of Linkedin. It should be different. It should add more.
How different should it be?
I stopped logging into my Linkedin. Because Linkedin has become just like Facebook. People posting stuff all day that are not related to their careers.
I stopped all notifications. People posting videos just to get attention and more traffic and more followers don’t interest me.
So I don’t want more spammy posts to attract my attention. To stay on the system.
I like the courses on Linkedin. There is content and I can learn. So if I could join some “course spaces” on Nostr, where I can learn about a specific topic I would pay SATS. I would join.
I like some of the groups on Linkedin. If Nostr gave me some groups to join I would join. But I do not want people to spam me in groups. So if you want to spamm me with a lot of clickbait so I enter your funnel you should pay me SATS. Just pay me to consume your content and I will give you my attention.
My attention is not free. I have limited time. I got a box of 233.600 hours. Limited time. So you have to pay if you want some of my attention.
As a business owner I’m looking for leads. I can’t deny it. So if there is a way to get a list of qualified leads I would buy it. Imagine I could meet 100 top CEOs of that need an online project management tool I’m promoting. And I could send them a video of me showing how I could help them.
I would pay for that. To do that now on Linkedin you have to buy an extra subscription for Linkedin. And those 100 CEOs that you can market did not ask for that.
So having a list of people who have identified themselves that they want certain content - e.g. online project management services - is great. How could that be implemented in Nostr? What about: if you want to send me some info about online project management services YOU pay me some SATS???
So if you want to BUY my attention YOU pay me sats. If it is a short video of 5 min, my price is 1000 sats. If it is a video of 25 minutes my price is 5000 sats. You now need a marketing budget in SATS to market me.
Would that work? Would a seller’s market for attention (we all sell attention) - eg our 233.600 hours - work?
Btw: how I calculated the hours is just by multiplying 365 by 16 (the effective number of hours awake per day) and the number of years I expect/hope to live. It could be less.
So because we have Lightning working on Nostr, we could put a price on attention and monetize our attention.
Going more in detail about how it would work:
1. You choose a list of topics you want to be pitched about
2. You choose your price per minute of your attention in SATS
3. You post your prices on top of your profile
4. People pay the SATS and send your the info
5. The moment you consume the content you start earning sats.
6. You might have to prove you have a certain amount of SATS to buy some services. E.g. my price per minute for my attention on project management services is 1000 SATS but if you get my attention and I like your stuff in your funnel now I have 10.000 SATS I want to spend on online project management services.
7. So there is a transparant market of services and maybe goods I want to buy and I have my attention price per minute fir all goods and services I want to consume.
I think this would work.
You pay for information. You pay for people’s attention. And you get rewarded in SATS when people buy.
Everybody gets paid. You get paid for what you contribute.
Now let me ask you this:
Would you put your content, on an open platform like that? Would you put your attention price in SATS on a platform like that? Would you want to get paid for your attention on a platform like that?

Public trust is there no more.
We need to organize private trust. And do it ourselves.
I wonder how Bitcoin, Lightning and Nostr could help us organize private trust.
Let me give you a short case study on how public trust sucks.
Today I had to get a proof of my address. From the government.
Just a piece of paper with a stamp on it. Which costs probably 5 usd.
But the public systems to make this an effortless experience were not there. Public trust was not there.
I trully don’t trust the public systems in my country - a Caribbean island - can deliver this experience effortlessly.
I had to make an appointment to get the paper. For the appointment I had to drive to the office and sit there and wait 30 minutes. Then I got the appointment and it was for over 13 days.
So just to get a piece of paper from the government stating that I live where I live I have to wait 13 days and spend 30 minutes and drive 20 km?
This is why some small island nations become poorer. Because their public systems cannot deliver easy experiences.
Now how could Lightning and Bitcoin and Nostr change this?
Imagine there was a record of where I live. That record is only accessible by me. And I could prove that I’m me. By signing a transaction. Just entering my public key and signing the transaction with my private key.
Imagine a world where the Nostr protocol is integrated in services of small island nations. Like the public services of these small island nations got Nostrified. Like I could visit a public desk and the desk says Nostrified. Or I could visit a public website or I could link to a public API and it says “This service is Nostrified”.
I’m dreaming: just enter my public key and then sign a transaction and it gives me an answer back “Nostrified Yes”.
Wouldn’t that be cool!!!
I can prove my address and I can let everybody I want know that this address I’m sending you is VALID.
Wouldn’t that be great????
And then If you need me to pay some SATS for the service, ok I pay with lightning.
There are many things that I might need to prove are true. My address, the companies I own, that these companies are active, my gender, my nationality.
Why can’t I prove these things by just signing transactions?
Now how can we create this private trust with or without governments?
Governments are still on their centralized rails. They have these centralized databases that are only read and updated by public servants. All our data are in these public databases and every time we want to prove the legitimacy of these data - our data - we have to wait 14 days.
Let me know your thoughts on how a private system can be created where we are in command of our data.

Those banks piss me off!!!
Today I tried to send 100 dollars from a local bank to another local bank. Online, from my personal account.
Then I saw 1.06 of charges added to my transaction. In my country we have 6% of sales tax.
I was pissed. Is this something new?
I’m paying already 7 dollars in monthly administrative fees for my bank account.
Now imagine a world where bankers sit back in their cooled rooms and lean back and soak the value out of the economy.
They have their old legacy infrastructure and their oversized organizations full of clerks and their real estate.
And when somebody in the economy creates 100 dollars and want to send it to somebody else they just put in their dirty straw and soak up 1 dollar in transaction fees. The government also adds a little straw of 6% and collects 0.6 cents.
Without creating any value they suck 1.6 dollars (1 percent) out of the value created.
Imagine you try to transact 100 times. In 100 times they - the banks and the government - have sucked the whole value created. You try to send 100 dollars 100 times and the whole value is soaked up by the banks. 0 cent will arrive.
That is the world we live in!!!!
Lightning can fix this. Bitcoin can fix this.
For providing the service to “send” value it should not cost in the 1%. IT CAN’T. Because that means that ultimately you cannot send value across space, and time because there will be no value that arrives.
Millions of people are “sending” value home. Not only locally but internationally. “Sending” value in the economy is called the velocity of money. On average they say in the USA this velocity was around 4 and it dropped to 1 during Covid times.
On average 4, but I believe my 100 dollars will be sent more than 100 times this year alone.
Why? I sent it to a local store. (1x). The local store owner will have to buy groceries (2x). The groceries show will have to pay its employees (3x). The employee will have to buy a a present for her mother (4x). You see where I’m going. If I just follow “my” 100 dollars within a week, I can imagine that 100 dollars changing hands many times.
Let’s say we are 3 weeks in the future. Don’t you think my 100 dollars would have changed hands a 100 times?
And then, see the picture. My 100 dollars is now completely in the hands of the banker. He lays back forward, pick up his suit case and heads to his beautiful home. In his pocket my 100 dollars.
How can we change this?
How can we make “sending value” globally easier?
What do we have to do so that those micro businesses who actually create the value (at the macro level we call that GDP or Gross Domestic Product) can keep more of their value?
PS: this time it is 1 dollar per transaction.
But next time they will increase it to 2 dollars.
And to 3 dollars. The dirty straw just keeping getting bigger. So you can soak faster.

Great question!!
I think with the CBDC (globally) they will be able to increase control. In the example above, they will be able to control the v. The velocity of money.
One problem the Central Banks (including the FED) have is that they can print currency like crazy. But if people hoard the currency, nothing happens. If the V stays low (like one) it doesn't have so much effect.
But with CBDC they can influence the velocity. They can say Peter has 1 dollar and Micheal have 1 dollar. But now, Peter: your dollar will become void in 30 days. And Micheal: you are allowed only to buy apples in stores X, Y, Z. Not in the whole country.
When Peter hears he got 1$ in stimulus but the dollar will be void in 30 days, he will be running like crazy and spending it. The Central Banks believe they can stimulate demand through the CBDC more effectively.
By targeting certain sectors of the economy - Michael can only spend at stores X, Y, Z, they can also stimulate certain demand. Specific demand.
Of course they will tell John - the banker and their Wall Street friends - upfront which sectors he will have to invest in. John now knows which stocks to buy.
On your theory that it is attractive, Yeah I feel you.
They will say everybody will get a stimulus check of say $1000,- (new dollars). Or they might even say - you get a Universal Basic Income of $3000 per month (new dollars = CBDC).
Everybody will run to get these dollars. And they will forget their privacy. Free money, we become more wealthier right? So ordinary people will run to get their CBDC wallets and free money.
Then they will figure something out about the exchange rate. In the world there have been many resets, Brazilian, Argentinian, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Venezuelan resets.
They will simply say 1 new CBDC dollar is 100 old real dollar. So the exchange rate is 1 to 100. They will take two zeros off.
Then they can also say- we do not accept the old dollars anymore. They are void. You only have to use new CBDC dollars. If there are no old dollars printed or they are void, people have to eat apples. So they will go with the new CBDC dollars.
This will be a global reset. Every Central Bank will do it.
One of the problems is that somebody's debt is another body's asset. So if they take two zeros from somebody owning you 100.000 and you now only have 1000 new dollars, somebody will see his asset also go down 100X.
Ultimately they will just start printing currency again. They cannot stop this. They will print currency now digitally. Instantly, globally and they will be able to finetune their monetary policy.
Micheal and Peter are not allowed to travel to Europe, during the next 6 months, their CBDC dollars cannot be used then.
It is gonna be like 1948.

So the first thing John does is buying apple stocks. Because John knows that eventually the price of apples will increase. He has some knowledge about how the banking system works. He knows that fiat currency can be created out of nothing and will eventually lead to increase of prices.
But then a Corona virus hits the world.
And the government tells everybody to stay at home. So the production of new apples drops significantly. But the government says, don't worry. We will send you all a stimulus check. There production of apples drops to 1 apple per year. As there are no people producing apples any more.
But the government sends stimulus check for 36 dollars in stimulus check to everybody. The money supply has grown with 600%.
And there is only one apple in production. There are still apple stocks.
Every body is happy. Peter, Michael are so happy with the helicopter money sent to them. They also think the government needs to implement an UBI, a Universal Basic Income, for the whole world. Everybody free money. Because if you have more money you are wealthier. Peter and Michael believe that because there is 6 times more money there is also 6 times more wealth in the world.
John knows that it is time to buy a scarce asset. He heard there is something called Bitcoin, where you only have 21 million. Better than gold. John dives into learning about Bitcoin and grabs everything he can learn about Bitcoin. He follows his friends on social media talking about Bitcoin, but as he is afraid that those accounts might be blocked in the future, John gets an account of nostr.com and snort.social. Because he wants to keep learning about Bitcoin.
John also knows something about M*V = P*Y. Something friend who studied economics told him.
John recalls his economist friend told him that M is the money supply, V is the velocity of money, P is the price and Y is the total income/production in the economy.
So John starts plugging these data into this simple equation that is always true, because he sees the FED (the ones printing money) has increased the money supply to 36 dollars (6 times more than before).
John is trying to understand where the story goes.
If M = 36 (Money supply is 36 instead of 6 before)
Y = 1 (the economy only produces 1 apple instead of 3 before
the formula is like 36*V = P* 1
So John feels he is on something. He starts thinking about how much transactions the people would do per year. He thinks due to the Corona Crisis that people only transact little so he assumes that the velocity is 1.
Now John tries his best algebra knowledge and figures out that
P is 36*1. So P is 36.
John starts buying Bitcoin like crazy. Because John knows that the inflation is not going to be transitory. The inflation is going to be permanent. Whatever the FED says.
And John starts to think further. What would happen when the Corona Crisis ends? People will transact more. Buying more apples or trying to make apple pies out of that one apple of production. So V will go up.
What if people transact twice more.? So V goes to 2?
John puts the price into the equation again. P is 36*2= 72.
This scares the heck out of John.
He buys more Bitcoin.
