@nprofile…j7pl I was chatting to this very clever psychologist lady who explained this notion about a 'well of knowledge" By which she meant that there are some people who sincerely believe there is no more to be known about any one subject. They have reached the bottom of the well. So searching for further understanding is a fruitless activity because, as they believe, there is nothing there. Engagement in conversation deeper than the well is met with deflection or even hostility

The Conservatives were celebrating this morning after another by-election victory to #Sevenoaks District Council (SDC).
The Tories secured 44% of the vote to elect Tony Marshall in the Halstead, Knockholt and Badgers Mount (HKBM) ward. Reform UK came in second with just under 30% of the 1,273 votes cast with the Liberal Democrats some way back on 20%.

The Met Police announced late last night that they will resume arrests under Terrorism legislation for people holding signs referencing support for #PalestineAction, despite the High Court ruling in February that the proscription of the group was unlawful.
Rather than admit that the arrest of a woman under the Terrorism Act on March 15th breached their own policy, the Met have now changed the policy to try to make it fit retrospectively. This won't stand up in court, of course.

The Financial Conduct Authority has awarded Palantir a contract to investigate the watchdog’s internal intelligence data in an effort to help it tackle financial crime, which includes investigating fraud, money laundering and insider trading.
