Call if a relic of my school days but I still work better on solving a puzzle with pen and paper.
I just can't look at a problem and get to coding, there has to be my own diagnosis of it on paper, manually working through test cases, edge inputs and at least two iterations through an entire loop of the main logic. Only after that do I replicate the logic using code. Am I alone?

Linux pros, I need help and advice.
Besides XFCE, what desktop environment runs most performantly on this older hardware, while still delivering a user-friendly GUI experience for a non-technical user?
Specs: 2012 Laptop, Intel i5 (no GPU), 12GB RAM, 256GB SSD.

Oh dang. If I were you, I would be to try a different USB 3 port on the laptop. Maybe ask a friend for another cable too, faulty ones give a lot of headache where you end up troubleshooting the rest of the system while they were the villain all along lol

try something like a video capture card maybe? For the record, you're HDMI-ing into your laptop? https://www.amazon.in/India-Aluminium-Streaming-Teaching-Broadcasting/dp/B0973PR9HH

On second thoughts, you can always drop your favorites' names here. My gym playlist is never complete and can use additions!

The more I read about the way this person interacts with other people, the more I'm convinced he's probably the biggest man-child among all the oligarchs of the United States. Belittling people, being stubborn, talking over someone are a narcissist's signs. And I'm not even going to touch the subject of the racism, xenophobia and ragebait content that his website constantly pushes and rewards.

Interact with this post if you're a non-US person on mastodon. I really want to connect with actual other people.

this is such a good point, if all customer service reps do is recite phrases from their guidelines, then sure AI can and will replace them. Not like these people were given any agency in the first place!

4 Euros for that slice or is it a slice from the cake that you bought?

I wrote a little something on enshittification inspired by @npub1fdr…lvhs. It's very brief.
