We don't consider the Chinese system objective because it's not monetary.

@nprofile…n92f I am constantly irritated by the people who pretend they couldn't see this coming or that everybody who did was just being alarmist.
We warned them about a thing before it happened so they could prevent it from happening. They refused to act because it wasn't happening yet. Now it's actively happening and they're somehow shocked and *still* actively trying to marginalize everyone who warned them.

Working with CoPilot is like having a pair programmer who is wildly insane, didn't read the project documents and may or may not be a spy.
The syntax is usually solid, it's the logic and design that's absolutely bonkers.

In our town hall meeting this morning, an executive told us that they plan to give all software engineer jobs to Al.
When asked what he might have to say of any comfort to us, he said there are still lots of projects to be done in the meantime.
He ended the call by telling us he's uncomfortable with AI coding, knows that we're all uncomfortable with it, and that's exactly where he wants us to be.

They jump in long enough to kill off a bunch or even all of the competitors and then they kill their project.

When the authoritarians get into the Democratic party, they demand instant black and white perfection instead of greyscale progress and distort the discussion. They give people the impression that the Democrats *can't* unify to back a flawed candidate.

@npub1gfd…7gg6 My employer insists on Jira but they also insist on *continuously* changing the arrangement and requirements of fields, workflows and roles. We have bi-weekly continuing retraining as a result and it's still impossible to keep up.
The truth is that I don't know if any of my complaints originate with Jira. If I was ever allowed to use the damn thing rather than do battle with it, it's possible I'd like it.

Their official app was so garbage for a long time that BaconReader was the officially recommended best available on Android.
It took me a bit to catch wind of the fact that most moderation is done by bots that are effectively third party apps in their own right and thus effectively all moderation, especially NSFW forums, is going away.

#[0] I got the notice a little bit back that they would lock my account with no recourse because I had 2fa turned on and because that was becoming a paid feature they can't let me keep the account with it on and unpaid.
Seems like you'd just restrict the account to settings or turn off 2fa on free accounts but they'd just rather lose the reach I guess.
