I had to take a break from Twitter recently because all I saw was bots trying to stir the pot with Kirk’s assassination. I was on there because I thought I must be up to date with all the latest btc treasury company talk. Turns out, I’m not much of a fan of that approach to bitcoin.
Look: there are 15% of people on the left and the right who are extremist NUTJOBS. I did not witness anyone serious and reasonable celebrating Kirks death nor wishing a war with “the left”. Most people want to just lice their lives, get along and bitcoin. Call out extremism…don’t fall into the gutter on either side of the aisles here. We are called to love each other and that requires introspection about yourself and what makes you tick as well as understanding and compassion for how other people see the world. The steady march of time and regretful mistakes and misjudgments has beaten the fallacy of “black and white” from this man. Some people, in order to avoid painful introspection and honesty, take their foolish certainties to their graves.

The older I get, the more I look back and realize I did not know WTF was up for so long. I shudder. Time and mistakes hopefully teaches and wisens you. Anyone who would wish for the assassination of a political opponent is demonstrably insane. Not only is it categorically against what Christ requires of us (Love your neighbor/enemies)…it works against your cause by completely knocking out the social supports of peaceful respectful dialogue.
Like the Joker, some people like to watch the world burn. Accelerationists etc.

I really do not understand this type of thinking. When COVID happened, I’m as freedom loving as the next person on NOSTR but I thought ON MY OWN that it was good scientific (and common) sense to isolate and mask for a short while so MFers (a lot smarter and technically focused on disease transmission/spread than me) could figure this thing out. I had friends who were full on FUCK YOU and your isolation/masking. It all comes down to You’re Not the Boss of Me-ism and ultimately, natural selection: adapt or die….and a lot of those who couldn’t adapt did in fact die from COVID. 😕

Isn’t KYC a current requirement of running his business in the USA? It’s going to be pretty tough getting a ton of adoption if it’s not through KYC channels (Coinbase, et al). Very few new adopters have the insight, knowledge, or even desire to acquire btc outside of “the system”.

I think it has to do with how much data is on your iPhone. The transfer process must make a determination of which data it can transfer from iCloud and if that is the most efficient method. I also have some specialized apps which require downloading and storing additional large dataset downloads (400GB+). My suspicion is that this is what causes the long multi-hour migration process. In the future, I’m going to make sure to remove those apps and their data and just re-download those specialty datasets because my internet connection seems to be a lot faster than the bluetooth/wifi transfer that the migration process is using!
