Religion is a big and complex topic. For starters, even defining the world religion is hard. So you have to start with a working definition and go from there.
One helpful way to understand religions (sorry, not enough time to define it), is that they typically start from an identification that life is unsatisfactory, and/or meaningless, and then identify some sort of solution, or salvation. Along the way they also try to answer fundamental questions of life like, who am I? Who are you? and What is this word?
For example, some Christians could be said to identify the suffering of life as being due to selfishness and disobedience to God, which results in suffering and ultimately, death. So the solution is having faith that Jesus fixed all that, resulting in an eternal life free of suffering.
Conversely, some Buddhists could be said to identify that eternal life is our problem, that is, we experience the samsara cycle of endless birth, life (of suffering, unsatisfactoriness, meaninglessness), death and rebirth. So salvation is in a sense achieved through escaping this eternal life through mediation and non attachment to your idea of the self - so you have to 'die' in a sense - so the complete opposite in some sense to Christianity! They start with the same problems but go off in completely different directions for solutions.
This is a very broad generalization and the main religions have enormous disagreements and divergent thinking amongst them. But I just try to give the jist of things.
And also, they are a great tool to oppress or liberate people depending on the personalities of adherents, especially the rulers (that German guy around the time of WW2 loved it, and cobbled together his own). This is why you can meet both really great and really awful people involved in all kinds of religion. Very powerful ideology. And if you're not careful, it's easy to hurt yourself and others. Beware!

A key common element of religious cults (or new religious movements if you prefer) is that, while they may not be correct, they are definitely not unsure! It's sad that mainstream society is not immune from this thinking either.
Indeed, most people find appealing the claims of people being able to identify life's problems and therefore, its solutions. Sales, politics, religion, bitcoin.
Buddha think realized this. A major source of people's (society's) suffering is the clinging to and identifying with, delusions. Salvation = letting go of it all, holding all these ideas, including ideas about who you really are, and the nature of reality, as practical working ideas/hypotheses, rather than objective truths about reality.
The more you know, the more you realize you don't know.

Healthcare.
Cuba has one of the lowest costs per capita health care in the world, with top outcomes (ie one of the lowest infant mortality rates in the world, which is a key indicator of population health). In comparison, USA has the highest cost per capita in the world with some of the lowest outcomes (eg infant mortality rates).
Britain had a great National Health Care Service until it was gutted by corporations (probably USA ones, but don't quote me. lol. As if anyone would quote me).
Why is Cuba so successful? USA government sanctions that impoverish Cuba. So, ironically, you could argue the USA gov is responsible for the good health of Cubans.
And violence.
Governments have made better violence, directed at domestic and foreign actors, better than the private sector, or DIY (Do It Yourself). You would of course have to believe violence was a good thing, which most people do, many without realizing it.
It's interesting to investigate the living conditions in so called failed states (often brought about by other governments). Ultra violence with zero accountability. Compared to those conditions, normal governments could be said to do things better (more principled violence). But I think it's an unfair comparison - because the people in those failed states have been so damaged psychologically by the violence.
Perhaps an interesting example is El Salvador? A history of gang violence, created by USA government. I think you could say El Salvador now, through their use of violence has made things A LOT better than before. By all accounts the people are so much happier and freer - the majority of the population has been freed from their 'open prison'.
Perhaps it is better to see governments as bringing both benefits and drawbacks? Analogous to technology? Eg, the internet/computers/phones etc. - has potential for freedom, but in most cases, is a tool for enslavement and oppression? Remain ambivalent towards governments?

I'm not sure what I think of Saylor's advocacy of SOV for plebs and p2p only for corporations and governments. He seems pragmatic, shrewd even, and in face of certain annihilation if the rich turn against btc, SOV usage (or conceptualization) would seem much more likely to ensure btc's survival (as it doesn't challenge the current monetary slave system).
Yet, while that approach might increase btc's chance of survival, it perhaps does it at the cost of decreasing the plebs' chance of survival. This is because they get separated from their bitcoin which is captured by the controllers of the controlling financial system. And then price manipulated, stolen via tax, confiscated, etc.
As for hodl vs spend, given the low time preference, seams reasonable to hodl for twenty years, then retire early and start to spend, wealthy enough due to the hodling, to do things you want to do - it buys you your time/freedom.
Of course, you can do both, hodl and spend. But depending of the tax implications, you might have to go live in another jurisdiction to really start spending in earnest. Perhaps this aligns with Jeff's idea of turning your back on the old slave system, and moving to the new liberating system - building on that?

When these thoughts and feeling come into your mind, let them go, and focus your mind back to your mediation object - something like your breath. Eventually, you will become master of your own mind.
As you train, remoteness can help, but monasteries can also full of things you don't like, because you can't run away from your own thoughts. So, making a remote retreat in your daily life, eg, silent 45min meditation early in the morning before others awake, can work very well.

Poor young people can't save fast enough for a deposit for a home. Rich kids get given a deposit from their parents.
