So many (smart) friends still struggle. Helping them all the time. Giving them opendimes with sats to be incentivised to learn. Works great though. Even wrote a PDF for them how to get off exchanges towards self custody. But it's still a struggle for many. It's a paradigm shift. But hey, onward!

Great piece! I think violence is the end stage of long lasting and slowly accumulation anxiety, frustration and eventually fear. It’s the end signal something is structurally broken. You can condemn violence or recognize - as as society - you missed or ignored all the signals that lead to the violence. After violence comes war.

How is this different for you than pricing other free market goods or for example public traded stocks. Does it matter what the unit of account is? Shells, gold, fiat money or bitcoin? We have had many systems for measuring distance, weight and value. Bitcoin is nothing more than the evolution of money.

When restoring from seed phrases i did not use the original keystore file. I created an entirely new setup based on the same seed phrases, probably even in a different order and confirmed i could see the funds and transact them.

I think the Chinese miner-ban was also a blessing. Imagine not truly knowing what a substantial miner-ban would mean for bitcoin. Same with the silly ordinals. I think they will not survive and only make the network stronger by having been part of the evolution of Bitcoin.

IMHO Ordinals are a blessing. They teach us what it means to be a permission-less network. They prepare the network for worse. Without them a bigger attack could come as a nasty surprise. Ordinals are part of growing up. I suspect more Ordinal-like attempts will be made, and why not? It's a permission-less network. Miner are free to exclude them.

Within a Bitcoin network could a node with sufficient resources experience a fluctuating amount of connections? At one moment there are say 12 peer connections. Just a few minutes later just 1 or even 0.
I am experiencing this with my node and I can't stop thinking about it. I would expect quite a stable amount of connections since there are so many.

I've just watched the whole interview. Yuval in this section is warning that the same surveillance tech used to monitor people during covid could also be misused against people for totalitarian purposes. The point he's making IMHO is that this tech is a double edged sword that must be understood and used accordingly. He is certainly not advocating for using this tech to determine what you think about the government. On the contrary.
