₿ What Is Bitcoin Mining?
As I continue learning about Bitcoin, one word I come across quite often is “Mining.”
At first, I also wondered:
“If Bitcoin is digital money, what exactly are miners mining?” 🤔
From what I’ve learned, here’s a simple explanation:
⛏️ Bitcoin Mining doesn’t mean digging Bitcoin out of the ground.
Miners use specialized computers to perform calculations that help validate transactions on the Bitcoin network and add new blocks to the blockchain.
This process plays an important role in securing the Bitcoin network and maintaining a reliable record of transactions. 🔐
When a miner successfully mines a new block, they can receive a reward consisting of:
₿ Newly issued BTC + Transaction Fees
This is also connected to the Bitcoin Halving that I shared about in my previous post.
Each time a Halving occurs, the amount of newly issued BTC in the block reward is reduced by half.
One thing I’ve started to understand while learning about Bitcoin is this:
Bitcoin isn’t just about watching the price go up and down.
The more I learn about how the system behind Bitcoin actually works, the more interesting it becomes. 📚₿
I’m not a Bitcoin expert either.
I’m just a young person who is starting to learn about Bitcoin and sharing what I discover with others who want to learn alongside me.

₿ What Is Bitcoin Halving?
As I continue learning about Bitcoin, one word I come across quite often is “Halving.”
At first, I also wondered:
“What exactly gets cut in half during a Bitcoin Halving?” 🤔
From what I’ve learned, here’s a simple explanation:
⛏️ Miners who help secure the Bitcoin network and confirm transactions receive a block reward when they successfully mine a new block.
When a Bitcoin Halving happens, the amount of new BTC issued as part of that block reward is reduced by half.
For example 👇
2009 — 50 BTC
2012 — 25 BTC
2016 — 12.5 BTC
2020 — 6.25 BTC
2024 — 3.125 BTC
Bitcoin Halving happens approximately every 210,000 blocks, or roughly once every four years. ⏳
Why is this interesting?
Because Halving gradually reduces the rate at which new Bitcoin enters circulation. It is an important part of Bitcoin’s monetary system that helps keep its maximum supply capped at 21 million BTC. ₿
However, a Halving does not guarantee that Bitcoin’s price will increase.
Bitcoin’s price can be influenced by many factors beyond supply, including demand, economic conditions, market sentiment, regulations, and other market forces. 📈📉

₿ Why Are There Only 21 Million Bitcoin?
As I continue learning about Bitcoin, there’s one thing that really caught my attention.
Bitcoin cannot be created endlessly. Its maximum supply is limited to 21 million BTC. 🤔
Unlike traditional currencies, where central banks can increase the money supply when needed, Bitcoin follows a fixed set of rules. Under these rules, no more than 21 million BTC can ever be created.
That’s why I think when learning about Bitcoin, instead of focusing only on “How high will the price go?”, it’s also important to understand:
📚 Why was Bitcoin created?
⛏️ How are new bitcoins created?
₿ Why is the supply limited to 21 million?
📉 What is Bitcoin Halving?

For people used to using paper money, crypto isn't unfamiliar — but if you think it's a scam and don't bother learning about it, you'll get left behind. Let's take a quick look at the difference between Fiat (traditional currency) and Crypto in today's financial system 👇
1. What is Fiat (traditional money)?
Currencies like Kyat and Dollar are official money issued by governments. They're controlled by central banks, which can print more as needed — meaning they're vulnerable to inflation.
2. What is Crypto?
Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, and others are digital currencies that run on blockchain technology — you can't hold them physically. No government or organization controls them centrally.
3. Why should you learn about Crypto?
Fast/low-cost transfers: International transfers arrive within minutes at low cost, instead of waiting days.
Inflation-resistant: Currencies like Bitcoin have a limited supply, so they can't be printed endlessly on demand.
Emergency alternative: Can bypass mobile banking restrictions and transfer blockages — usable for online payments and investments too.
Both traditional Fiat currency and Crypto have their own strengths. Understanding how both systems work will make your financial management smarter.
