Search engines are now required to enforce "age verification" for their users in Australia.
This requirement of the new "Online Safety Code" has formally kicked-in on Saturday, July 27.
If Australian users search while logged out then:

Chromium is the base browser on which Chrome, Brave, Microsoft Edge, Opera and Vivaldi are built on.
It's inaccurate calling it "de-googled" because it never contained any Google components. It is the BASE on which Chrome is built.
The accurate thing to say is that Google Chrome is Chromium with Google components added on top.

DDG has a political bias in their SERP when it comes to Russia/Ukraine which they openly admitted to (and who knows on what other matters which they haven't) but what this story shows is that there is a significant commercial opportunity (i.e $$$) in taking an explicit anti-AI stance.

I think it is very important that UK Column come clean about the EXACT nature of their association with Marcel Jahnke and whether the funding he provided did indeed come with ANY conditions in terms of editorial stance or even discussing publicly the nature of his involvement with this 20 year old outlet, which has become one of the most prominent in the “alternative media” scene in the UK.
I cannot see how silence on this matter can be acceptable given these revelations and the fact that UK Column are (still) technically a member-supported media outlet.
