30-some years ago I used to house sit for a family with two dogs and a shoulder cat. I loved having her riding around behind my head, purring away happily. Since then I have had several cats of my own, and not one wanted to be a shoulder kitty. That's a rare gem you have there.

Back in the 1990's I worked on some imaging software that ran on Mac (68030 Quadra), Windows 3.1 and O/S2. The X-Y origin was bottom left for Mac and Windows, but for O/S2 it was top left. And then most scanners produced images with the origin at the top right. I got pretty good at transforming images on the fly at that job.

I've read McNamara's writing on the part he played in that, but I take it with a large grain of salt. He was, after all, a master of self promotion. I think if Walter Sweeny had been more like Arthur Harris and stated the air force would guarantee they could take out all of the missiles, then things would have ended very differently.

*Most* do. The off grid versions are much more expensive, thus there are fewer of them. Solar is a much better option than fossil fuels, but it takes investment *most* people don't or can't do. My solar is off grid, but it took me years to put it together so I could afford it.
