Only sticking to technical facts, But in that scenario the chain will 100% split with the 110 chain rejecting blocks that contain say an Op IF, etc. How would you respond if you’ve split off on a chain with say <5% of the current bitcoin hash? If you are rejecting the heaviest weight chain(the common definition for bitcoin) for a split chain with a comparatively tiny hash without replay protection, why aren’t you worried you’d lose funds? Without replay protection you can accidentally losing money unless you’re very careful about how a transaction is constructed and which chain(s) will accept it.
<5% would also currently be VERY generous as zero blocks have signaled support, e.g. all 110 supporters combined haven’t even mustered enough has power to produce a single block. Assuming support remains locked where it is today the 110 chain cannot produce blocks.

Covenants give us vaults, and vaults make Bitcoin strictly safer to hold. Even if you’re a base chain boomer who is only in it for number to up store of value, Bitcoin is strictly a better store of value if it’s harder to steal.
And that doesn’t even get into all the other use cases of how Lightning gets way better. Even Luke, to his credit, has talked about how Bitcoin is unfinished and there’s important basic functionality needed. Bitcoin doesn’t magically take over the world. People must voluntarily adopt it and they will only do so if it’s much better than their current options.

The problem there is it’s essentially EOL and receiving few if any updates. Which is a big security and UX issue. The company is focused on their SDK and has publicly acknowledged they don’t know what they’ll do with the app and may sunset it altogether. Love Roy and the Breez app, but just important people know this.

Start9 currently at least has manual backups that are easy. Umbrel currently has basically no backups unless you go into each app individually on the CLI(not practical).
There isn’t a great automated backup solution right now that I’m aware of, but it’s on Start9’s roadmap.
If you need automated backups as a hard requirement I’d probably use Voltage.

She has a lot of corn on an exchange, but realized she needs to self custody and was looking for help. Bitcoiners all give great advice about hardware wallet options. Shitcoiner pipes in about how she can flip into a shady custodial ETH product for yield. I try to politely explain technical aspects of why shitcoiner is giving bad advice. I see shitcoiner is convincing grandma. I channel @npub1rtl…jtfs and just flatly say this guy is telling you to selling you a scammy shitcoin product where you could easily lose all your money because he owns a shitcoin company. Grandma avoids getting rekt, shitcoiner butthurt, and all is right in the world.

The struggle is Liquid is not Bitcoin. It’s a multisig with a completely separate blochain and a hope that you can get actual Bitcoin out when you ask, and the fact that you have to ask is the key problem. Lightning you do not. It’s a very different approach based on Cashu(custodial ecash tokens). Upside near perfect privacy and zero fees if remaining in ecash. They can receive lightning zaps while you’re offline then you can redeem and withdraw at normal-ish lightning fees when you come online. Still beta, but an extremely exciting option to explore. Ideal for small amounts as a trade off to custodial risk(which is only temporary if you withdraw when you come online).

Good question. I think about it with kids all the time. Going forward I hope education focuses on how to critically think and problem solve and less on pure memorization. But there are some things where even if you forget the details learning the core concepts is critical, especially math and science.
