Le client doit scanner la npub du nostr-bot du marchant via la borne, renseigner un OTP via DM, et il reçoit son reçu en DM.
Ca ne rend pas l'UX de Nostr plus simple, mais ça fluidifie un peu, et ça retire un besoin hardware.

(A "bit" of FOSS builder introspection : taking a look back and sharing is fueling me with positive energy, making health issues taking their leave for a bit.)
Our project, @npub16l9…u4ha is going a bit slower for a moment, as we had to accept a more classical IT job, partial time, to make up for the lack of funds (FOSS, no tracking, no service, you know the drill, it's not what VCs want).
Still, I'm really glad of our last months job, even last weeks :
- we improved the nostr-bot behavior, and the whole nostr implementation on be-BOP (you can know have a full smpt-free eshop, npub only)
- we implemented on-chain nodeless payment with no address reuse (be-BOP makes its own ZPUB derivation to generate a unique on-chain payment address and will check the transaction's confirmations on any mempool, public or private, you setted in the UI), allowing to have a full-nodeless self-custodial eshop on both on-chain and lightning (with previous Phoenix Server integration), making it works on 4.20€ VPS
- we implemented the (optional and modular) agewall for regulated activities
- we improved peerfunding challenge gauge (self-hosted, crowdfunding-like features), making some fix and adding some useful monitoring tools for owners
- products can now have variations (like colors and size for a tee), and with impact on price (we're working on the same thing for stock, for each product variation, that'll open to AirBnB-like booking in the end)
- while introducting SEO optimizations, we also implemented a "SEO Cloack" option, to say "hell no" to SEO crawler bots and stay in the shadows (sadly crawlers listen less and less to this, but... 🤷‍♂️)
- for hybrids BTC/fiat shops (to make adoption easier), after Sum Up, Cash and Bank Transfer, we introduced Paypal, and Stripe (allowing to enable Apple Pay, GiroPay, iDeal, SoFort, AliPay, Twint and more, a lot of specific payments that are nearly mandatory in some countries)
- while it's not finished, we still made progress of the Point of Sale touchscreen for restaurant waiter/waitress, allowing to use be-BOP on a phone or tablet to easily take orders on tables
- we added italian, spanish (El Salvador specific) and dutch langages support
- we improved back-office experience with order labeling, sales reporting, nomad Point of Sale on international (with seller IP overwrite)
- the docker-compose, initially made for dev, it now working on production, allowing to host be-BOP (e-shop), a S3 Object Storage (Minio) and a MongoDB on the same VPS, to be fully self-hosted
- and thanks to our last PoC (not on Github yes, still local), we can go from a naked debian 12 to an open be-BOP with a free dynv6 domain, SSL certificate, running Phoenix Server, interface to fill your ZPub, allowing you to install and up your be-BOP, publish your first product and cash-in online in Lightning or on-chain in a self-custodial way in less than 15 minutes, without technical skill (except connecting through SSH and pasting a curl command).
New pilots are spawning here and here, BTC meet-up in France, new shops in Democratic Republic of Congo through, some other are coming really soon, and local team are checking for deploying be-BOP in Senegal and other countries.
While my teammates made presentation of be-BOP at Plan-B (Lugano, CH) these last few days, I'll be at B-Only (Annecy, FR), then Adopting Bitcoin for workshops (San Salvador, SV), then CryptoXR (Auxerre, FR).
Lot said we were crazy to try to build a FOSS end-to-end solution from scratch (not based on Prestashop, Wordpress, BTCPayServer & co), pluginless (full standalone, nop paywall), managing the sales (online and retail point of sale IRL), the website, the legal and accounting compliance while introducing Nostr, having privacy in mind, respecting users data and having a password-less for customer policy, while providing way of working with your node natively, or working nodeless without custodial third-party.
This, especially with an daily operational team of 3 (1 dev, 1 tech lead, 1 CPO / QA), for the pure IT focus (Lionel, Léo, I don't forget you 🤜🤛).
It's been 21 months, it works better and better, it does more and more, number of people using it or planning to use it is growing, and now people are making it theirs and deploy it for others in their neighborhood.
Sky is not the limit (money and time are), but I can't wait to see how far we can go, despite the odds.
Let's go back to work, and thanks again to friends, supports, alpha users, beta pilots, curious, enthusiasts, and even to critics and haters !

Ok, so, @npub16zl…evpc, @npub1ren…aw97, do you know how to disable automatic translation in Amethyst android client ? While it seems to be one of the best Android Nostr client to me, we tried to check with Theorygon, now he 's romanian, auto-translate fucks off my nostr-bot on be-BOP by translating every !command on our live demo @npub16l9…u4ha for Lugano (I won't be there, but team will be), and I didn't find a thing on the app to disable that.

I usually doesn't talk that much about disabilities (physical or mental ones), but both are fresh to me, I kept for myself, I kept for myself, and.... suddenly, the breakdown. "La panne". End of the (public) line.
Speaking about disabilities, weaknesses and lack of social skills or social appareance can be a no go or become a definitive pitfall, and it's really infuriating go through this kind of seemingly wtf, inappropriate and unexpected crisis (not being able to talk about lovely things, really ?).
But, it's like that. That's a new thing for me, it's weird, it's strange, it's unexpected, it's sometime random, it's fresh (more than 30 years without this, and now it's my daily basis), but it's like this now.
I'm happy to be able to take some height about these issues, talk about them, take a step back and put the situation into perspective through the news :
- Louisiana was huge for me
- Working in Bitcoin ecosystem was huge for me
- Today's the 6th birthday of my book about Louisiana
- Louisiana took as a state a huge step in Bitcoin adoption & safekeeping
- I'm happy about everything
While I'm frustrated because I'm not being able to express myself properly about the whole thing (or at least "as good as I expected"), at least, I'm happy about these facts, and, in the timeline, they make me think about myself, my evolution and changes, for the best or the worse.
So :
- Happy 6th birthday for my book about Louisiana, "Tales of the Deep South"
- Cheer it for being orderable through BTC on-chain, Lightning & fiat ( https://pvh-editions.com/product/tales-of-the-deep-south )
- GG to Louisiana to keep on this way, after their House Bill 488 and House Resolution No 33
- I'm sad to have some kind of "mental strokes" during these kinds of events, I'm tired of having them, but I'll always have them, and it's good to be able to talk publicly about it
On good events and harsh trial, it became two sidequests : one for the retrospective meaning of these events and how it counts for me, and another for what I lack, what I long, and how much I kept it for mysel, for way too long.
And, so, in the end, HDB "Tales of the Deep South", lots of good memories for me, GG Louisiana for BTC (geaux geaux crypteaux), and I'm kinda glad I was able to bring back some humanity and honesty on my online avatar.
That being said, as everyone, Satoshi Nakatomo probably loved gumbo. Who doesn't ?

So, two weeks ago, Michel "Ketominer" from nodl_it told me "You're not at #BH2024 ? Too bad, I would have been able to introduce your to some people for @npub16l9…u4ha". Socially and physically, I was in deep red, I don't planned to go, and I was supposed to babysit my son.

One insomnia and few days later, thanks to my ex-wife's understanding, I finally was in Riga, and went to my first Nostr event, for #Nostriga , all alone (people I know from France and Switzerland arrived only on friday).
And while it cost me and I'm still exhausted, that was one of the best last-minute decision in my life.https://m.primal.net/KbUX.png
The whole event (Nostriga, Baltic Honey Badger, BTCPayDay) was great, with a lost of meetings, discussions and laughs, but Nostriga was definitely something special for me.
The Nostr users & tech community is old enough to have self-criticism, discuss on PoC & scalability feedbacks, but is also young enough to have "everything to build" with this new protocol, with a lot of enthusiasm, effervescence and ingeniosity.
People were like "Oh, hey, how's doing, how comes you're here, are you building something with Nostr ?", and just with that, we talked, we talked, we talked, I met so many people from all around the world.
While I've experienced some Bitcoin event previously, at Nostriga, I was like jumping from my home watertank to the ocean, with exciting discussions, open-minded & friendly people, top-notch technicians, freedom-enthusiasms, fighters for a no-censorship and privacy-respectful world, and more.
Without tagging them, while it was really fun to meet familiar face so far from home (Polto, Darko, Michel, Max, Olga, Harry, Leo, Rolland, Lucas, Yves, Copin & more), I felt really lucky to meet people like Joel, Josh, Bayer, to be introduced to people like Abubakar or Odell, and even be able to make a be-BOP demo to Derek Ross (he was so kind, so nice, so accessible, it still feels unreal).
Clearly, this week will keep a special place in my memories, and while scheduling B-Only Annecy and Adopting Bitcoin El Salvador, I'm pretty sure that, next time, I'll be on Nostriga again.
The Nostrich will win <3 Let's build a new world.

Allez, encore une dizaine de jours de projet informatique alimentaire pro (bien qu'intéressant) avant de pouvoir rattaquer les projets créatifs (bien que toujours pro), et peut-être même que pendant les fêtes y'aura le temps de faire les projets (pas encore) pro à base de robots géants.

A tous les gens qui codent des apps mobiles qui se basent sur du QR code : mais bordel, autorisez un mode "camera frontale" ou "lecture du QR code depuis une image", une lentille de caméra de smartphone qui se pète après une chute, ça arrive, et c'est rageant de se retrouver bloqué sur de l'identification QR Code à cause de ça.
