Interesting but incomplete at best, possibly flawed.
Nicomachean Ethics came to Europe through Arabic and Hebrew traditions. Medieval European concepts of the social bond weren't a unique invention, it was a dialogue with Islamic and Jewish thought (at times also with Byzantine and Eastern Christian traditions).
That ideas of virtue, obligation, love, and hierarchy in friendship had parallels and counterpoints in other cultures — which medieval Europeans knew about and enriched with.
