I agree in some extent. There is a significant number of good games being made right now. But they are mostly from indie studios. The big ones are infested with incompetence plus tourists who have no clue or passion for what they are doing. They’re in it only for the money or other cultural agendas.

I’m enjoying it a lot so far. Proper HDR and multi-monitor support. My games work as I expect most of the times with zero to little effort. I can keep secure boot so as I can dual boot on Windows for the games using incompatible anti-cheat. And the best part, the container philosophy. Easy roll backs and also makes it easy to run any distro containers seamlessly integrating everything.

I’m on Bazzite. Which is not really a distro on traditional thinking. It’s based on Atomic Fedora with cloud native delivery. It’s built using Universal Blue.

I see it exactly for what it is, cowardice. Sony can’t control the narrative on PC like they do in their walled gardens. There, they rely on paid for "access media" and pony shills to call every cinematic clone a 10/10. On PC, players actually call out the bullshit. Old titles priced as new, lazy ports and forces PSN logins.
Sony can manufacture "success" on their consoles, but they can't hide from the truth on Steam.

It was always half-assed. Could be good if real effort went into it. Even though Microslop is not known for clean apps and good usability. Almost everything from them is bloatware.
How I miss the time Xbox was almost its own thing aside from their corporate bulshit and with good passionate engineers working on it.

It’s not. The arcade era was magical. The intros were definitely part of the charm.

Believe it or not, I have never played this one. I never got a Gamecube and kind of skipped its games when it was current. I was on PC, Dreamcast and PlayStation 2.
I did buy and play a few Cube games on Wii later like Metroid Prime, Zelda Wind Waker and Mario Sunshine.

For the biggest players is the fear of missing the opportunity to lead this market. The rest just wants to surf the wave making as much money as they can while it’s flowing easy. The tech won’t go away. But many companies and projects will.
