I quickly checked your notes and the tailscale docs. to run the docker container you need at least those --cap-add=net_admin and --device /dev/net/tun, neither of those can be done at the moment afaik.

0.4.0 is getting closer every day 🤣 I'm not sure about tailscale, the '--network=host' and '--cap-add=NET_ADMIN' is not something you can do at the moment. I'll ask the team if there are any plans to add support for this. (a wireguard server would need this too afaik)

If you know how to work with cloudflare tunnel dashboard, you can use my wrapper of cloudflared for startos: https://github.com/remcoros/cloudflared-startos
only needs the tunnel api key, all configuration of tunnels is done inside the CF dashboard.
Here are some internal hostnames+port of some startos services to use:

If you don't mind tunneling through Cloudflare infra, their zero trust tunnels work very good to expose your local web services on a clearnet domain. All on their free tier. I have a wrapper of the cloudflared app for StartOS on my github repo.
I'm doing this with my BTCPayServer instance, also includes a lightning address and the Nostr plugin for zaps. Works great!

It's not a built-in option of StartOS, but since it allows access over SSH, you can upload/download whatever you want using ssh or scp. You'll have to know your way around linux and the StartOS filesystem structure.
Here is some documentation to migrate the blockchain TO startos: https://docs.start9.com/0.3.5.x/service-guides/bitcoin/blockchain-copy#blockchain-copy
(you'll have to do the reverse when you want to copy it from startos to another machine)

`git clone [repository url]` now you have a backup.
"Git" is not github/gitlab/gitea, those are complete git management servers all using git and adding (project)management features on top, meant to be hosted on a server (like startos). But just "git" is a decentralized source control management tool.

well, it's not really an option that a start9 user would normally use. Only the most common and sensible options are currently exposed by the Bitcoin Core wrapper. Knots had to specifically add it for datum too :)
This can be easily added to the Core wrapper though, but it's currently not on Start9 mind I suppose as they work hard to get the next OS update out.

2024-12-09 16:21:49 UTC

DATUM itself probably does, but the Bitcoin Core wrapper for StartOS does not have some configurable settings (like 'blocknotify') that datum needs.

Download the ".s9pk" and side-load it in StartOS under "System -> Sideload a service". Then configure the cloudflare service on your server (it just needs your CF tunnel API key) and start it.
The key can be found here:
https://m.primal.net/MoyM.png
(use the copy button, paste the full command in notepad, and then copy just the full key)
Then you can use the Cloudflare Zero Trust Tunnels dashboard to setup "public hostname" routes, like this:
