All the floor is down, now, and almost everything is back in...six inches higher off the ground. Many scraps of wood needed to chock, where the concrete was slightly uneven. Carpet squares laid, in neat, if not quite matching pattern.
We had to rush a bit, because clouds started moving in. So far, no wet stuff. (Not that we want more rain, but at least, all is high and dry🙂)
Hoping to sleep betterr, with that concern removed.

Two days of sunshine, and bracing North Westerlies. Concrete slab dried, and we have two plastic pallets down....six to go. They are surprisingly heavy, but very sturdy. We even scored 6 x 1msq carpet tiles😊
Total cost $305 + two shiggered old people = peace of mind.

Four days ago, I somehow managed to move my right leg in such a way that my knee locked up, and sent excruciating pain down the outside of the leg. The pain gradually eased to mostly the knee area, and I had a brace on it for 3 days.
I'm used to clumsy, but I was lying down when it happened😬.
Old age is a bugger.

It's almost as much of a shock as have Fed, and State, Labor being worse than Liberals (mainly because we expect more of them than they are obviously capable of delivering).
The causeway should have been closed to heavy transport. It wasn't builtt for the volume of car traffic. People are going to have to get used to not being able to use it any more.

We have put a deposit on another van. It is 2 feet longer, has a front kitchen, an island bed, and is a pop-top...so all the o/head cupboards are lower (we're getting shorter as we age). It's 23 years younger than the one we are in now. We will take piccies when we get it home.

A couple of weeks ago, a power point in the kitchen area got hot. We decided it probably should be replaced, as it looked original (van is 52 years old).
What a bloody drama.😡 Apparently, electricians don't work on caravans.🙄 Auto-electricians only work with 12 v, so it was a case of diy.
However, it was a double-pole double switch power point. There were too many wires for a single pole, which was all that electrical suppliers had. We had to pay big bikkies for a replacement from a specialist caravan parts place.
Long story short, youngest son, who did an electrical course some years ago, came to help, and it took 3 hours...just because it was awkward and fiddly. We also installed a safety switch.
