Wolf Road Prairie is one of the vanishingly few unmolested patches of prairie in the United States. Originally, it was destined to be a housing development. They built a few sidewalks, but the development fell through before they began clearing the land. As I understand it, It’s surrounded by stripmalls now.

2nding. I spent 4 days in LA leaving Sunday. I hadn't really been reading news at all and didn't even know about the protests until my friend asked me about it. Ended up walking right through it on the way to Union Station to catch my train. It was about a 3 square block area.
Street vendors were selling hot dogs and fresh fruit. Lots of kids. With the exception of one metro line shutting down, Union station was operating as normal blocks away.

As an admin, I wish I had a "suspend and report" option so I could forward to the instance of the offending post. It's kind of awkward to report posts to myself, then suspend them, especially for low effort spammers.

My standard for consent is to pretend the thing I'm consenting to is being physically done by a person.
It'd be super weird if I bought a used car from some one and they asked me if they could follow me around.
It'd also be super weird for a stranger to ask to follow me around writing down the things I put into my cart at the grocery store.
If I called a taxi, it'd be super weird if the driver asked me if he could look through my phone contacts and copy them down.

If it's what I think it is, you're likely to be disappointed. I've seen a lot of these under several brand names and they're all borderline unusable. Unable to focus, super dim etc etc. Good luck though.

Trinity is neat, but the bomb site itself was pretty underwhelming to me. It basically looks like a gravel parking lot with a chain link fence around it. Most of the trinitite has been cleaned up and buried. The ranch house where they assembled the bomb and the drive in were the most interesting to me. They have lots of weird antennas and giant mirrors for missile testing.
Be sure and take advantage of this photo op at the ranch.

The ARRL license manuals are fantastic. I reference mine all the time. They're written very well and offer a really good introduction to amateur radio. I also appreciate the binding lets you fold the book flat and keep it open to a specific page.
