I may have actually bought them before I moved to Spain! I’m not sure. Now that I live here, I generally order shoes sent to my parents’ house and get them when I visit. They’re like €50 cheaper in the U.S. So then bc I might buy multiple pairs at once or they don’t reach me for months, it’s easier for such a thing to happen.

Breaking in new shoes. New that I bought like 2 years ago and found in a box, yay don’t have to buy new ones for some months.

Cory Booker has been on the floor of the Senate since 7pm last night (13 hours and counting), not just a typical filibuster reading kids’ books or something like that to fill time. He has been reading a list of actions taken by the Trump administration that harm people, and reading messages sent to him by constituents about the impact on them.
Every bit of resistance and opposition matters, and the more public, the better. It can inspire others.

I’ve never been a big cycler for exercise (haven’t actually owned a bike since I was a kid, partly due to living in small apartments, but do bike share), but from bike share programs, I always felt the cold much more while biking than running. More wind.

I loved seeing so many people out playing football ⚽️ on the beach while I was running, but it made me sad because I saw no girls. Then finally I saw one girl 🫶
I saw lots of women walking, but running only several young girls with their dads, several foreign women and a couple young women. Morocco is not a place where women can’t do sports, but it is still not a place where most women are out doing sports activities in public. Also saw ⚽️ stadium en route to airport.

Three years ago today, I had bilateral bunion surgery. I have run 3,968 miles since then, a longer distance than a flight from NYC to Barcelona. Below, a post-surgery pic and a few pics from runs since then in beautiful places.

At a Spain-U.S. business forum today focused mostly on Spanish business/investment in U.S.
Nobody wants to say anything negative about Trump given how vengeful he is. Yet all the positives being asserted are things like:
“He can’t decimate the Inflation Reduction Act as much as he says.”
“We don’t think he’ll put as high of tariffs as he says.”
“The U.S. economy always recovers, even when it falters.”
“It would be bad for the U.S. economy if he deported so many/put such high tariffs/etc.”

I just learned about this awesome program in Barcelona and some nearby cities (modeled after a similar one in Copenhagen) that takes elderly people and those with reduced mobility around on these electric tricycles so they can “feel the wind on their face”

This is very good news. The Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services have officially recognized Brain Injury as a chronic condition. When I had a Traumatic Brain Injury, it ended up causing a stroke after 18 months of mediocre care & failure to recognize how badly I was doing. Nearly 2M people in U.S. suffer a TBI annually.
