I find it amusing that:
-Xbox Game Pass doesn't work on Windows Copilot+ PCs.
-Tech outlets are suggesting cloud gaming as the "solution" for gaming on these devices.
-Multiple Microsoft-developed games like Flight Simulator, Halo Infinite, and every single Forza title aren't even listed on the gaming section of the "Windows on ARM Ready" site.

3 short years ago, we were publishing headlines just celebrating that a game would even run on Linux. Now those games "just work" on an operating system they're not even developed for, and we're celebrating those games running BETTER on Linux than Windows.

Just got in these handsome Dell XPS 13s and am EAGERLY awaiting Qualcomm's continued Linux support in kernel 6.11. If anyone knows of a distro that supports Snapdragon X chips right now, please let me know!
In the meantime, I guess it's time to finally check out WSL...

They do have much more recent kernel, GPU drivers, etc, but your point remains. The outward appearance to people not closely following the news cycle might simply be stagnation.

That feels like a fair criticism. I'm going to give the company the benefit of the doubt for now since they're striving to learn from the community, BUT...
I wholeheartedly agree that shipping with Linux preinstalled (such as Bluefin, Bazzite, Fedora, Ubuntu) is a better option. It makes a statement of support and confidence.
We NEED more PC companies to do this, AND to advertise that they're doing it.

Am I imagining this, or did there used to be a Linux distro that let you install it right from Windows. I’m not talking about using Rufus, etc, to burn an ISO to USB in Windows. IIRC this distro actually had an installer you could use in Windows, then reboot into your shiny new Linux install.

I'm pleasantly surprised to see that my #SteamDeck is outperforming the HP Dev One laptop in gaming
Honestly wasn't expecting that!
And Steam Deck in docked mode just gets better and better.
I'm going to revisit the idea of daily driving the Steam Deck for my @npub1hxz…r8sj work. Using my @npub1mjj…a2m6 Launch keyboard really sweetens the experience and expandability too.
This is the device that just keeps on giving.
