Scrum's "definition of done" is one of the least agile parts of Scrum. You're done when you release. You are doing that every couple of days, aren't you? Of course, the resulting feedback will require adjustments in whatever you thought was done. Attempts to create "done" criteria up front is just waterfall thinking. You won't know if it's right until you get it into your user's/customers' hands.

People have too inflated sense of what it means to "ask an AI" about something. The AI are language models trained basically by imitation on data from human labelers. Instead of the mysticism of "asking an AI", think of it more as "asking the average data labeler" on the internet.
Few caveats apply because e.g. in many domains (e.g. code, math, creative writing) the companies hire skilled data labelers (so think of it as asking them instead), and this is not 100% true when reinforcement learning is involved, though I have an earlier rant on how RLHF is just barely RL, and "actual RL" is still too early and/or constrained to domains that offer easy reward functions (math etc.).
But roughly speaking (and today), you're not asking some magical AI. You're asking a human data labeler. Whose average essence was lossily distilled into statistical token tumblers that are LLMs. This can still be super useful ofc ourse. Post triggered by someone suggesting we ask an AI how to run the government etc. TLDR you're not asking an AI, you're asking some mashup spirit of its average data labeler.

In my view this whole Cancel Culture attitude entered our industry through the back door of the "Code of Conduct" movement. CoC was the Trojan Horse. It gave petty little thought police the power they needed to ban and cancel people.

Every so often I’m asked “How do I manage our huge backlog?” First of all, a huge backlog is a red flag. Often, it would take years to go through everything on it, and by then, most of those items wouldn’t be worth doing. There are always new items, and those new items are always more important than what’s on there, so existing items get pushed down, and are never built. So, the first thing you need to do is limit the backlog size to the things you will do—a month’s work maximum, and even that is way too big for me. (I often work with no backlot at all.) As for the huge part, just throw everything out. Yes. Everything. The important stuff will come back very quickly.
To keep things under control from that point forward, you need to put a hard limit on backlog size. (Think of the backlog as a Lean ready queue; this is a simple WIP limit.) Literally nothing goes on unless something comes off, thereby freeing a slot. Engineering will open slots as it pulls work, but Product can add things to a full backlog by removing something from it. That means that the Product people need to think about value. Which thing on the backlog is lesser value than your thing? What will the person who put that allegedly low-value story onto the backlog say when they discover that you’ve replaced their item? Discussion will ensue, and that’s a good thing.

Example when you ask eg “top 10 sights in Amsterdam” or something, some hired data labeler probably saw a similar question at some point, researched it for 20 minutes using Google and Trip Advisor or something, came up with some list of 10, which literally then becomes the correct answer, training the AI to give that answer for that question. If the exact place in question is not in the finetuning training set, the neural net imputes a list of statistically similar vibes based on its knowledge gained from the pretraining stage (language modeling of internet documents).

Anytime I post a video on making code more readable, I get lots of "probably horrible for perf!" comments.
Promise perf almost always comes down to your flow control - running things concurrent vs series. Adding an extra Promise.allSettled() seems to have no effect.
Its good to always think about perf, but just test it! Tools over rules.

You are not your customer. Imposing something that you imagine your customer wants is a kind of bullying. IME, it's best for changes to come about through customer collaboration, not forcing your ideas on them. After collaborating on the initial idea, build it and release the change to a small number of users as an experiment, get feedback, and adjust. I don't know how often I've heard somebody say, "The customers will _love_ this!" They didn't.

Unsolicited advice is toxic, particularly if that advice comes from reading books or taking a class instead of actual lived experience.) Adding the word "should" to that advice makes it 1000 times worse. It's patronizing at best, bullying if you're in a position of power. If you feel compelled to "help," step back, think, and then express what you were going to say as a story. "I tried that once, and here's what happened…" If you haven't tried it, then hold your tongue. (Though, I suppose it would be okay to say, "I read about that in <this book>.) Don't give advice; share your experience, and even then, only if asked.
And, of course, I see the irony in this advice . Here, though, you can ignore it. I will not be in the least offended. In-person is another matter entirely.
