Last toot from here. Thanks folks for being an incredible bunch, sorry I’ve not always had all the levers to pull on safety, but I hope on the whole this place has been a positive one for people. Prior to the closure notice, I had purged of our user database of lurking/dormant spam accounts.

Everyone here in this period received a toot about the close (done manually).
Updates on the closure have been posted and can be found on my timeline (25 over the course of a bit more than a month).
New sign ups to the server (I hadn’t the ability to turn these off) were informed on the day they signed up and directed to new servers.

If you’re reading this and on warhammer.social it’s a note to say that this server is no longer moderated as of today (17/01/24), and it is liable to be closed without notice.
A decision was made on the 17/11/24 that the server would close, after that point comms about the closure ceased. After which and in that in that context as the Mod on the server I initiated communications about the shutdown.

The two issues however
First I’m a techno-barbarian, I couldn’t maintain a server 😂
Second and I can’t navigate a good pathway around this one, is the GW side. We’d be covered as a fan site, so that’s okay. But as we’d be funding the instance - it’s arguable that it’s monetising their brand. So down that pathway lies a cease and desist I think.

Okay. I’m always very gentle on GW, as i find the business fascinating (know thine capitalist enemies etc and all that) but there’s one thing I’m loading to barrels on.
What gobshite did the uploads for this KT update. You’ve changed the naming conventions for the documents, not only from the pervious lot (which were excellent), but also midway again in this batch?!? The fact you uploaded the wrong doc for Gellerpox is funny and unfortunate. But fix the naming conventions back you lazy bastard.

When I let #-s to trend, I update casing. It works for me, but it’d be nice to know it works you! Check “# SilentSunday”
If it is working, suggest some hashtags you’d like updated. I’ve now got new functionality in the back arse of the mod stuff which lets me be proactive on fixing these.

So, using it as a frame and selecting the colour scheme - how does that intersect with your centre piece - are you looking to mirror it, compliment, or contrast it? I’m just so impressed and had been chucking some drybrushes at a tiny bit of terrain I made for an old FediPaint and it’s all a bit directionless.

I’m sort of in the same space as you. Especially for these Specialist games - less editions less frequently would be my preference. But they’re a business so go figure, they know that a new edition boosts sales, so I can’t expect much different from that.
I really agree with you, think this is a case of refine and remove rather than bolting more to it. It’s an amazing game, streamline it a bit more, keep the tactical puzzle and the fast pace, but find ways to gently simplify it.

- sort some of the more “game-y”/Meta aspects of KT would be nice (Thinking about some of the placement of operatives to deny charges, obscuring). It’s fine to retain, but making them cleaner and clearer? I don’t like an element that’s a “Gotcha”
- Overall on rules I’m hoping for an equivalent of WHFB 6th to 7th in size and shape. Tidy up not revolution, I think the game is 90/95% pitch perfect. (Well 7th minus the silly power creep of factions 😂)

Anyone else churning through their thoughts on the new #KillTeam edition? For me:
- New Vespid look amazing, way better than I could have imagined them looking.
- Hive City is decent setting, I was a bit unsure of the rig setting of Season 3 of KT2.0
- I’m actually a bit sad about the shapes, it was a cool idea, admittedly not executed terribly well 😂
