Hi again fedi friends. I have an idea for my next major music project, but I need some further input.
What are some pieces of technology that you would say are the highlight of the 20th Century? I am looking for tech that advanced people's lives and were heavily weighted towards a net benefit for people overall.
Any ones that stick out to you would be appreciated. Background welcomed 🙂
Thanks in advance for any thoughts/ideas.

yeah - the more I read into this the more I am impressed Mel! It's one of those projects that not only helps out your own collection, but can benefit the broader music community - well done 👏

just reading up on Picard now, sorry I don't have any quick tips to help out, but I have been doing similar work using Yate (not connected to a database like MusicBrainz though).
It is tedious, but sometimes the work needs to get done. 🙏

I definitely didn't want to ruin anything for those that don't know Dr. Myers makes an appearance. 🙂

Such an awesome music vid and song! Also, it gave me hope for a Meljoann and Roberta Fidora collab :blobcataww:

‘controlling the narrative’ is such a systemic issue and used by so many and really doesn’t have a basis in reality because they fabricate something as the ‘new truth’ which is then repeated enough and regurgitated enough that it ends up being used as ‘evidence’ to perpetuate said ‘new truth’ to the point that it just goes round and round - where it stops nobody knows.
I am very appreciative of the community here to have some refuge from all the above.

You can hear the winter winds in the far distance beyond the mountains. The earth feels cool to the touch and some tiny frost crystals are forming at the end of the pond...
That's right, the second disc of the Four Seasons of Bonk Wave - Autumn Waves is set to release this Friday (April 17th) with a release party at 20:00 UTC on https://party.bonkwave.org

you know I often tend to believe at face value whatever a tech billionaire might tell me with regards to a medical discipline that could impact a product they have a self-interest in #SarcasmAlert 😒

I have scoured my files and cannot find the original Ableton project files for a track that I published back in 2022 titled "Summit" 😔
I was a little nostalgic about some of the pieces I made back then and wanted to go back and see if I could take a stab at remastering (perhaps mixing them again). Sadly, this one will probably have to stay as is.

great observations. Adding on to this I have noted that capitalistic systems will latch on to those feelings and exploit them so that they can "sell you happiness" in whatever form that comes in.

might I just say that I am astounded (in a good way) about all the work, discussions, and collaboration that have gone into getting this off the ground! I don’t do videos, but helluva lot of respect for those that do, and will spread the word about this where I can.

Hey all, @npub1ksz…wp8v is looking for remixers for his Happy New Dystopia! album: https://xylander.bandcamp.com/album/happy-new-dystopia
It’s been on heavy rotation for me, and I bet you’d find a track that speaks to you in a way that you’d be inclined to remix it 😉
Give it a spin and see!

Check it out here: https://mirlo.space/ccirco/release/metamorph
Special thanks to all those on here who have provided an awesomely supportive community to be able to be creative and provide venues for expression.

Bravo @npub1nuu…gjr3 I was able to catch your performance live and it had a lot of depth. Much appreciate you sharing your music with us all 😀
Now, my #Mustics daily subscription charges seem to have increased drastically... err... should I be concerned? 😎

I have officially cancelled my #AppleMusic subscription and am planning to shift to exclusively buying all my music.
For me, I found having the streaming music at my fingertips made me lazy. Also the curation was really starting to bug me. Much in the same reason for why I shifted to Mastodon, I want to shift how I consume music.
Looking forward to engaging more. Especially with all the lovely people that make music on here.

My question is where is the creativity? For me creativity is a culmination of lived experiences, trial and error, learning, failing, and injecting an element of oneself into something that is shared with others.
AI in my opinion can provide starting points for these endeavours, sure. But when it becomes 90% of the process, is that creativity? My opinion is no, because it’s the process not the output that is important.

So I got to follow a thread where a self titled AI Music Creator attempted to gain support for their rights as an artist. It was very interesting to watch the discussion amongst all involved but, for me, it all boiled down to what the purpose of AI is in these circumstances.
The answer, for the majority of those that double down on this, is that they are more concerned with mass producing an end product. Seemingly like a factory or industrialized process.
