This is an updated version of the original MSP website by the legendary StevenB (npub1yvg…6pv9).

Its a simple web form that builds a podcasting 2.0 RSS feed for your music.

Sorry about the confusion. You want to download the xml and host it with your art and audio like you said then take whatever url that is and paste that into the podping section at the bottom to update it on podcastindex.org so apps can see it.
Also I see a feed you saved to MSP Hosting and the art doesnt seem to be showing up and I get and error when I go to the url for art but the audio is fine.
Your split for thrummingdream571293@getalby.com is set to 0 also so your not getting anything.
Everything else look good.

@nprofile…rkec all you need is somewhere to host your files online. Then just fill out the form on my site, download the RSS feed it makes for you, save that where you already host your music files. When that's done return to my site, click the podping tab at the bottom, enter the url for the feed you just saved and you're all set.
It's easier than it sounds but if you're talking about setting up a web store and are familiar with bandcamp you'll be fine and if you need any help just let me know.

DM's are so broken here.
For publisher image it's on the publisher tab under publisher artwork. I have it label as logo for some reason that I might need to change.

Lightning payments seem fixed now. I think changing the name on the feeds xml should fix that issue or you can just leave it since it's working fine and just try to remember to not do it again. 🤓

cool, its an easy fix and you have 2 options.
Option 1 - go to new.musicsideproject.com, import your feed (you can paste the url), the site will fix the issue, save the new feed and switch it with the old one.
Option 2 - In your feed you need to replace

The second one is a revamp im working on and what will be the main site at some people.
Eventhing seems fine but your lightning wallet info needs changed since the old version handles it differently.

I made a test feed and here some notes.
-maybe add a preview for the art work so people know they have the right one
-Apps really only support one "funding tag" so I'd limit it to one for now
-the art work url box could be bigger
podcastguru.io works really well for importing test feeds and thats what I did with this one and it seems to work. Just paste it into the search box and it will let you import it.

I've been just playing around with ways to post or host stuff on Nostr and that NIP was me making an RSS based music playlist and posting that to nostr. I guess a nostr app could grab it and make that playlist in there app but they would have to be pulling stuff from podcastindex.org to know whats in it.
I think this is the fork but this is just something i threw out there and dont even know if its correct.

Role and Type is great. The external references I'm not sure about since Im not building a nostr music app but I replied on nostrhub with how they are referenced in RSS feeds.
TLDR I think you have the right idea but need the feedGuid and itemGuid.

I've been thinking about adding the ability to upload your music and art to blossom servers in MSP so you can use them to host your media and I'll build and host the feed for you.
I'm on the fence because I'd prefer you host the media somewhere you truly control in case the blossom server goes done (which has happened for someone using MSP) but also making it dead simple for artist to get started is tempting.
I want to be a RSS music feed creation tool for people but I also realize that easy mode could help people out.
I've also been in this V4V music space long enough to know that if you make it too easy for people they don't really learn anything and I want people to learn that they can host all there music on their own website and just use MSP to make the feed.

I've been working on some experimental nostr features in @npub10z4…x7l3 that may or may not ever be used so I hid them in the UI. If you go to the menu in the upper right hand corner and click "Show Experimental Features" they will now show up with a 🧪 next to them.
Hope this makes it less confusing for people. o7

If you're using @nprofile…935n to submit or update your RSS feeds to podcast index places make sure you don't have any spaces or special characters in your feed url.
This was causing duplicate feeds in the podcast index.
If you do have a feed that needs change and you do change it let me know so I can keep an eye on it incase it needs some special attention.

Got a RSS feed and want to add it to Nostr Music? Simply signing with Nostr, import your RSS feed into MSP, click save and pick Publish to Nostr Music.

@npub12zn…6yg6 @npub1ztz…7zxv @npub18ug…20ex @npub1l5h…hdrf some of you guys asked about PodPing support to let apps know you updated your feeds well I just added it to new.musicsideproject.com.
This is the first pass so I assume I'm sending the correct data but I build in production so there's only one way to find out.
There is an option in the "save" menu to send the PodPing and there is also a button at the bottom to do it. It should auto populate your feed if available or you just paste it in and hit send.
I'm also updating stablekraft.app so that when you send the PodPing here my app will update or add your feed and not have to wait for the nightly polling or for me to trigger it manually.

for the Nostr Music stuff I'm really just adding whatever NIPs the Nostr devs come up with since its not my main focus but want to support it since people shouldn't have to enter the same info all over the place since that's one of the main issues were trying to solve and why I love #RSS so much. One feed that countless apps and services can use.

The unpublish button should delete it for you but its just a request since Nostr doesn't really have a delete but if you need to change anything just make the changes and republish to Nostr Music and it should update.

I added Nostr Music a while ago but have been focused on the RSS stuff since this is a RSS and PC 2.0 focused site after all but I want to be a one stop show for publishing music where ever possible. You can even import nostr events and make a RSS feed from them. All VERY experimental but the framework is there.

@npub16x7…a44x and @npub1tp4…3c7a how are you guys handling deletions for Nostr Music? I have a Publish to Nostr Music option in @npub10z4…x7l3 that @npub1ztz…7zxv is helping me test and I'm just curious how well it works?
I'm using NIP-09 to send the deletion events but they are just request after all.
I'm not so worried about it being deleted from all relays but if sites like yours have music it would be nice if it actually got deleted.
Also do you guys handle splits yet? That also came up as Aaron and I were chatting about this stuff.
I know you guys also allow people to upload on your sites but Aaron is using MSP 2.0 for his RSS feeds so him being able to hit "Publish to Nostr Music" from the same site would save him and others a ton of time and allow them to use one site for it all. Basically I just take the info a user enters in the UI and map it to the Nostr Music stuff like I do when building a RSS feed. Its all the same data after all. I've kind of taken a break from the Nostr Music stuff but NMNU was looking into it so I'm revisiting it.

I wonder if that nostu.be url could be put in a RSS feed? Then it could we watched and Boosted in PC 2.0 apps.

This works by adding a prefix to the URL for your tracks so if you see something like "https://op3.dev/e/" in the feed thats normal.

I just added support for op3.dev to the site that allows you to get download numbers and other stats. Just click the toggle for it in the Album Info section to enable it when building your RSS feed.

I got Claude working on a prototype right now. It's over confident when I vibecode on my phone so I'll have to have it double check it's work when I get how but the idea is have a toggle like the explicit toggle that turns the OP3 stuff on and off.
Toggle it one and when you make a feed it adds the prefix to your url in your feed. Then you simply update the feed where ever it's host like you would any other changes.

Fixed a bug last night that was causing the site to overwrite feeds that were hosted with me.
I dont host any media but will host your RSS to help you on your self-hosting journey but ALWAYS SAVE A COPY OF THE XML FILE!!
Luckily the user that was affected had a copy saved so we were able to restore it without any issue.
To help prevent me messing up people's feeds in the future I now save a copy of the xml file that's hosted with me but that's more for me to be able to fix these problems myself and as a backup since this site is very new still.

MSP 2.0 was used to make this feed and is in the splits for %1 so when Silvie Boosted 2,222 sats I got 22 sats. Pretty cool.

MSP 2.0 now lets you add your npub to your RSS feed via the <podcast:txt> tag. This tag allows you to add info to a RSS feed that is either for reference or if something doesn't have a formal tag.

I'll have to think about it some because each feed has to reference each other. Maybe a page where you enter the info needed for both instead of switching back and forth between the Album and Publisher pages?
My first thought would be make the album, submit it to podcastindex, build the publisher feed, submit that to the index then add the publisher feed to the album and update it in the index.
Or you just build both feeds and YOLO submit both to the index at the same time.
I'll have to ask around if it matters if you submit one before the other.

Think we could do it all in one shot? Publisher feeds are still not really used in the selfhosted word so it's an afterthought but you seem to be onboard with them so maybe I'll see if some steps can be removed if you want to do both at once. 🤔

We need to build the tools before we can make them easier but easier usually means giving up some control.
My goal is to make the best RSS music feed generator for people to use while trying out some other ideas along the way.
We're going to break a lot of stuff along the way but that's half the fun and this stuff doesn't build itself.

Fixed a bug in the Publisher Feeds that was causing some apps to not pick them up.
You can also make video RSS feeds now that are basically the same as a music feed but its marked as video in the feed and the UI is tuned for it.

Reminder to ALWAYS save your .xml file for your RSS feeds. I'm doing a lot of testing that requires me to delete my test feeds from the MSP hosted but the import .xml always brings your stuff back because that the source of trust for all of the RSS stuff.

new.musicsideproject.com now lets you build Publisher Feeds. This is a tricky one to do but I think I have a nice start with it. Thanks @npub12zn…6yg6 for testing and feedback on it.
I allows for cool pages like this to be built and links all of your music together.

Wavlake made the original one and the others just pull in that data and display it. The other links were just to show it across other apps.
All of that info lives here and is in each one of Henrik's wavlake feeds.

RSS has publisher feeds that is one feed that list all of your feeds. Wavlake does these and thats why other RSS based apps can make you cool pages. Your host (wavlake) handles all of these feeds for you and that gets submitted to podcastindex so other apps can use this info.
How do different RSS host and Nostr all get tied together? I dont know but seeing new stuff being built is very exciting.

so in the legacy world what ties all your music to you?
For RSS normally you just host everything in one place so that ties all this together under your account there.
Nostr is tied to your nostr profile.

When you make a RSS feed it needs added to the podcastindex and the site now lets you do that instead of having to go to the podcastindex.org site directly to add it.
Also if you update your feed in anyway like adding tracks then you can also let the podcastindex know you made the change so it updates quicker there.
This is to make things quicker and easier for you the user. 😎

MSP 2.0 now lets you submit or update your RSS feed in podcastindex.org. You no longer have to go to the podcastindex.org site to do it so if your hosting your feed yourself just past in the URL and hit submit or if the feed is hosted on MSP it will auto-submit it or any updates when you upload it to MSP.
You are also given the link to the feed on PI. Something like this https://podcastindex.org/podcast/7642183
*when you submit a feed for the first time it can take several minutes to show up in the index but once the page loads with it then your good to go.
**UI for all of this needs cleaned up some but you get the idea

Made some updates to the site thanks to recommendations from @npub12x5…egp4 and @npub12zn…6yg6.
The add recipient button is now a drop-down that has Blank, MSP 2.0 and podcastindex.org listed in-case you want to add either as a split.

When you paste the URL for your track I now fetch the tracks length and show a preview player so you can double check that its the right track. I also removed the file size box since its harder to fetch and might now be needed. (defaults to 33 for anyone checking the feeds.

Save modal now has a link to the "add" page on podcastindex,org. I want to add support to do this on the site but for now just follow the link and paste the feeds url there.

really its just podcastindex and MSP in this case but you can add anyone you want for whatever reason and thats the cool part.
