Gold's market capitalization has dropped $7.3 TRILLION since the conflict in Iran started.
That's over five times the size of Bitcoin. It dropped 1.5 Bitcoin market caps in 3 hours.
I had no idea how big that market was. Anyway. Poof.

2026-03-23 15:03:22 UTC

I'm fully expecting Iran to strike somewhere in the next 24 hours, since it's basically the only way for them to state "officially" that Trump's making up these alleged negotiations.

I will say, what might save them is that 2 of the 3 relegation spots appear spoken for. I think it could all come down to how they each do against Wolves and Leeds, since they both play them in the last 7 games. Spurs will be lucky to get 2pts out of the other 5.

One thing that's standing out to me as an American in Mexico is how they actually communicate about government services online and on social media. Here's how to register to vote. This is the consumer protection agency hotline. Here's how to get public health insurance for citizens and residents. These are our govt-backed home loans, with 12mo off interest-free if you lose your job.
Just really reminds me how much you have to claw and scratch to access services in the US. That's on purpose.

When you choose not to do that because you read about brains that time, and you're richer than you are smart, that's kind of a fucking PROBLEM, MARC

I think Shanghai has enough curlicue corners that some recharges are automatic, and that back straight is so long that no battery will last the whole way. Some of it could be e.g. lift-coast strategy, but there's still room for cars to be just mechanically faster around corners.
Mercedes has also been complaining about over- and understeer, so they probably traded away some downforce to be faster on the straights. Which used to be Ferrari's whole thing!

2026-03-14 16:45:59 UTC

Looks like the qualifying template for the early part of the season is going to be:
Q1: both Williams, both Astons, both Cadillacs out
Q2: 6 out of 8 of (Alpine, Audi, Racing Bulls, Haas) out
Q3: Both Mercedes, both Ferraris, both McLarens, then a jumble of Red Bulls and the lucky qualifiers
Guess we’ll see what upgrade season has in store.
#F1

2026-03-14 15:28:57 UTC

Watching the qualifying replay. They popped up a graphic showing Leclerc was over half a second faster in low-speed corners than Russell. Which is a shock, because for several years Ferrari management was adamant that CAR GO FAST, even when being the fastest on the straights hamstrung them in races. So maybe something there has changed for the better.

The most hilarious thing about this season is that #LFC are 3 points away from being 3rd on points, and play the 3 teams ahead of them (MUN, CHE, AVL) back-to-back-to-back in the first half of May.
Basically the whole season depends on whether or not they can get good in 2 months. (And also if they can avoid tripping over themselves against mid/bottom-table opponents.)
As bad as they are, I actually kind of like their odds.
