absolutely no argument that this is a problem that needs to be solved.
But I'm absolutely mystified how screening registrations universally would solve anything. Nazis are capable of writing a sentence. And moderators do not have any magic Nazi detection abilities.
It only works now because there's lower hanging instances. If all instances required signups to write a sentence then spammers and nazis would just do that.
We need an actual solution.

I think his point was that he was disappointed to find out that wasn't as true as he expected.
I assume you're not talking about Patrick Gray who does sponsored interviews but they're totally transparent and very explicitly so. I don't listen to them even so but if you're going to do it that's how to do it.
