I wonder if this also affects Orbot and Tor Browser app. This is one of many reasons why I don't trust phones and use Whonix Workstation on desktop instead. If it would be possible to run Whonix Gateway + Whonix Workstation on a phone, that could help (new phones have better specs than my 10+ year old laptop, which runs Whonix fine).

I don't know how Retnull's Android client works. You could post a comment on the bounty and ask (I don't know their contact info): https://bounties.monero.social/posts/94/31-001m-nostr-client-for-monero I guess it could be useful to have a standard for Monero tips, which multiple clients could implement, so that tipping would be interoperable between different clients and relays.

Then it depends if you want public tips or not. With my web client (which probably won't be completed), users can choose if they want to publish a tip or keep it private. Without the TX key or private view key, observers cannot verify if a tip was actually sent (although there may be some cryptographic function which could prove this without disclosing the exact TXID, but I am not a cryptographer).

Monero TXs can be decrypted 1) via the private view key or 2) via the TX key. Providing the TX key is 100% proof that x XMR was sent to address x with TXID x (the relevant ed25519 calculations can be seen here: https://codeberg.org/anarkio/pages/src/branch/main/nostril/js/verify-tx-key.js). Normally this would be bad for privacy and you would keep the TX key secret, but it is OK if the tips are intended to be publicly viewable and verifiable (and it is more privacy-preserving than the alternative, which is providing the private view key).

In "Nostril" web client, Monero zaps are private by default. If you choose to make a zap public, you need to provide the TXID and TX key (automatic if you use the non-custodial web wallet, but you need to copy and paste it manually if you use an external wallet like Cake or Feather). The web client verifies the recipient address and amount via the TX key, before the tip is included in the total (https://codeberg.org/anarkio/pages/src/branch/main/nostril/js/verify-tx-key.js).

The state already surveils, censors and totally excludes people via the government ID system. Twitter's verification is an extension of this as it requires a credit card, which requires government ID to get. In the EU, Worldcoin would likely require the eye scan plus government ID.
(The state doesn't want to give up its monopoly on identity or "whitelisted society". The state wants to track people from birth, not from the time of the eye scan, and allow only names and nationalities that were registered in their database (if you weren't entered in the state's database = you don't have a "real name" and the name that you use in daily life is considered as "fake" or "fraud").
The state is not meritocratic and doesn't care about effort or ethics, just damnation based on circumstances of birth, with no way to earn access or acceptance via your actions as an adult. An eye scan would circumvent this permissioned structure and allow "anyone with eyes" to participate, which is why the state will never let Worldcoin replace government ID.)
Only KYC-free services and agorist parallel economies can fix this. And it isn't about social media or UBI. It's about the basics of survival: Finding work, food and housing without government ID. Additionally sim cards, PO boxes, volunteer work, or even small things like going to the gym or library. Bitcoin and Monero solve the money aspect, as the war on cash threatens cash-in-hand economies and the state won't issue CBDC accounts or Digital IDs for people who weren't already registered at birth (same as the current banking and ID system). It is sad to see popular Bitcoin services newly support government ID KYC.
Banking, credit cards, Paypal and Western Union already exclude people without ID. Cash is local-only, and being phased out. Crypto is the only thing we have left.
Supporting, enforcing or normalizing government ID KYC cuts off people who truly need crypto: People without the state's permission, cut off from the mainstream economy and traditional banking, who still urgently need a way to earn, spend and save money.
If your country of birth or residence refuses to print ID for you (e.g. due to circumstances of birth), there are no alternatives. Red Cross/United Nations can't help.
People should not be punished or excluded from a service, just because a country refuses to print ID for them.
Financial inclusion means for everyone, not only for people who have an entry in the state's database.
KYC-free Bitcoin already helps people to work remotely, shop online, receive donations or send remittances. For many people, it's the only thing that works.
Don't take this lifeline away from those who need it.
Don't allow the state to continue to arbitrarily shut out 1 billion people from the economy, as it already does with the banking system.
Don't let the state destroy our tool for freedom.
Don't enforce government ID KYC.

The problem I have as a full-stack dev (with low social skills) is finding users for my projects. "Build it and they will come" didn't work for me and I don't have money to hire marketers or social media services (can barely afford to survive, almost lost my apartment this month, and it's difficult to find work that doesn't require ID). In addition, ID requirements aren't only "tedious" but also exclusionary (especially if the state refuses to print ID for you: https://agorism.blog/anarkio/roadblocks-to-obtaining-government-id) Jobs should be meritocratic, based only on skills, work ethic and willingness to learn, rather than gatekept by state permission.
The difficult part of building a KYC-free Bitcoin freelancing platform isn't technical, but social (i.e. finding users). I wasn't able to succeed with Bitejo.com yet and don't know how to improve.

https://microlancer.io is a good KYC-free Bitcoin freelancing and microtasks platform (no ID or bank account required), launched in 2018. It uses Lightning, has escrow and reputation, but isn't integrated with Nostr. Also I made a jobs section for https://bitejo.com but since its launch in 2021, no one used it...

Had an idea about Paywall Posts when I was thinking about the marketplace bounty (canceled my attempt as LNBits is already working on it: https://github.com/lnbits/nostrmarket).
Paywall Posts would be a regular text post with an extra attribute "paywall": "https://example.com/ebook.pdf" and the price in sats, e.g. "price": 1000. As the relay is serving posts, it checks if the post contains a "paywall" attribute and only displays this attribute's contents if the requesting pubkey has zapped this post with the specified amount.
In pseudocode:

return post;

Paywall Posts could be used for images, articles, music, ebooks or Patreon-style content.

Bitejo.com is my main marketplace project, but it's centralized and not on Nostr. I'm (slowly) working on a federated open source version.
Trying to work on a more complex Nostr marketplace according to this bounty:

A custom post type for products + Zaps for payments is the easier part. I wrote a digital download autofulfill script before with on-chain payments, but it was centralized.
Still thinking about autofulfillment on Nostr. The encrypted download link could be saved in the product post, but it must be decrypted and presented to the buyer after the Zap is received.
The difficulty is how to decrypt the download link – in a client-relay model, there is no private server to store the key. So either the seller must login to decrypt the link, which is sent to the buyer (i.e. not instant, but still peer-to-peer as only the seller has the key) or the decryption key is stored at a third party (centralized, but instant auto-fulfillment is possible).
I wonder how Lightning paywalls have implemented this.

Is there any low bandwidth client or gateway for Nostr? I have limited data per month and can't afford to use 1 GB per day to browse Nostr (unless I configured something wrong... I'm using Iris.to in Tor Browser and it connects to 10~ relays). Otherwise I guess I can try a CLI client on my VPS. #nostr

I see that it includes digital downloads. I made a digital download auto-fulfillment script before with on-chain Bitcoin (options were a download link or unique codes). It would be possible to code something similar with Zaps.

Working on a simple Nostr Bitcoin marketplace, which just aggregates and displays posts with the hashtag #nostrmarket and any of these tags: #buying #selling #service #job
There will be a frontend where users can browse and search for products. Clicking on a product directs the user to the original Nostr post.
Users publish listings with their regular Nostr client with the hashtag #nostrmarket. Buyers contact sellers with their regular Nostr client and arrange payment/escrow/shipping via PM (similar to Craigslist, i.e. there is no payment processing or built-in escrow feature).
This could help to build the Bitcoin circular economy, make it easier to earn Bitcoin via selling products or jobs, and make it easier to spend Bitcoin on products and services.

Would anyone be interested in an aggregator for a Nostr marketplace/classifieds?
Post a product/service/job that you are offering for Bitcoin with the hashtag #buying #selling or #job using your regular Nostr client.
Then this listing would be displayed in the aggregator.
Then interested traders could see your post in the aggregator, click on the link and comment or message you using their regular Nostr client.
It wouldn't be a standalone client with its own login/post/message functions, just a simple frontend that fetches posts with these 3 hashtags.

What is a good light client for Tor Browser or Whonix Workstation? Trying various clients (Branle, Astral, Iris) but often the posts don't load or my (old) laptop overheats... Nostr.ch is my favorite client so far, because it's lightweight.
