i've dreamed of making a programming language since i first read some book about compiler construction in my teens. this is the language. back then there was no multicore processors. i also used Wirth style idiom in my design (pascal, modula, oberon) back then and Go does the same thing, modula in particular gave the idea of making code imports a simple annotation in one place, instead of the .c/.h wall of the CPP C preprocessor. an artificial boundary that metastasized into C++, which metastasized even further into crab-walking Rust. the level of cancer (cancer meaning crab) in rust is spectacular.
all these silly vibe coders who got sucked into mozilla's viral marketing campaign for their language. they tried to make a browser engine with it called "servo" and that got quietly abandoned because it was even harder than doing it in C++. literally, the mindset you must have to think rust is an advance is identical to the topology of crabs - always dodging the point, always dodging the point. the point is the actual execution architecture of the processor. so inherently, while claiming to fix memory bugs, Rust actually succeeds in creating such a complex grammar and syntax that where i will use 100k tokens to write a basic web app, the rustaceans will spend 1M+ tokens. my code ships in days, theirs takes weeks.

in the balkans this is very common. also in the balkans i witnessed a legit cat colony of maybe 200 or more cats all hanging out together in one spot. i think in southern asia and rural china there is similar things going on. per capita cat population versus human, probably eastern europe and asia have close to or above a 1:1 ratio, and humans are feeding these cats, or they wouldn't be there.

so, the shrinking of tinygo into moxie turned out to be more extensive than i at first anticipated. first i realised that as usual, claude was pushing back against me going nuclear on strings, that's now fixed, but randomly along the way i realised that the "go" prefix to function calls served no purpose except to create hidden, implicit cases in select statements. so that's gone now too.
moxie is now a pure CSP language like Tony Hoare's paper written in 1978. Only erlang and Go use it, and Go muddles it with a thieving scheduler called a Work Stealing Scheduler that only really succeeds at obscuring the state of runtime of goroutines, which is why they are called "goroutines" they violate Hoare's original concept of eliminating sharing memory and modeling it as a message passing graph.

this makes it trivial to read the code and identify where execution is at, at any given time based on inputs. basically, a concise syntax for event driven programming. the cognitive burden of reading the code and identifying bugs is lifted, and queuess and subroutine branches are merged into an implicit generic function call that runs without the overhead of a function call (so, like goto, without the spaghetti).
the programming language designers since Hoare have been overcomplicating things by creating a domain boundary violation between parallel processes for years and calling it convenience, when in fact it's a nightmare to debug shared memory violations. whenever you see the expression "race condition" that is what is being discussed - two cooks spoiling the same broth.

i've already written a full marmot MLS implementation. why i agree with it is that it eliminates the distinction between group and two party conversations.
the implementation is tested side by side against the rust crate. i'm not familiar with the vulnerabilities but it all seems a bit moot to me when you can subscribe to the 443 and 445 and 1059 types on an open relay and see the traffic in real time, the obfuscated timestamps just complicate the fetching filters.
that's the whole point - you can't prevent metadata leakage without auth.
idk how to put it any more clearly.
as for vulnerabilities outside of that key and primary one, can you point me to discussions about these vulnerabilities in MLs that don't include metadata leaking because that is irrelevant. MLS is not about metadata security, it's about post compromise security and forward privacy, and the flexibility to have one single protocol implementation that covers all cases, DM and group.

fortunately, i hacked claude. it's now writing code without npm or any stupid framework. turns out it runs way faster, is easier to fix and extend, and completely removes this vulnerability altogether. and the code itself is moxie, my trimmed down, IPC based parallelised single thread per process architecture, inspired by Rob Pike languages like Newsqueak. concurrency in the ui. concurrency in dedicated network handlers, data handlers, and whatnot. using MV2 architecture in firefox instead of retarded MV3 (pushed by google with chrome) which was disrupting my multi-process threading with communication instead of memory sharing.
claude is trained to deal with all that npm stuff, but what i've made is far simpler, the bigger problem has been to stop claude reaching for those tools reflexively.

indeed it is, but the software that does it is sitting right here on my SSD. it's going to get refactored and compiled into wasm and will be part of a whole thing that i will be dropping thoon. probably in the next week.
pretty basic tho, only bulgarian/english, but fully sovereign, running in the browser runtime, written in a programming language that i have pretty much finished building out of tinygo.
i'm pretty sure when you see it you won't be able to decide which part of the app is the best. finally got the last bits of polish done for a contract i'm still waiting on the full payment for just as the contractee is waiting on me to deliver. in actual fact, it was mostly already done, but marmot MLS has been an epic 5 day marathon to get fully working end to end. but then i insisted on at the same time inventing a new web app framework - well, kinda like a framework, but stripped back completely.

i've got claude to cook up a potential plan for a corporate structure for exactly this. not corporate, exactly. a kind of business association, and we embed the right of all contractors doing labor for the organisation to be part of a council that decides the work order. it's like the old yugoslavian system, carved out of the modern one in croatia. the hard part is i need to find 7 people to found it. but i don't think they all have to be software engineers even. 3d printing, custom hardware building, organic/health food products, even things like my ideas about making a product range for a modular archery system could be part of it.

the Tito version was the best, and almost nearly was effective. it's quite interesting to study how yugoslavian companies functioned. probably they were better organised than any modern capitalist version. the rest of the system was fucked though. but it's a fact that almost everyone knows of Gorenje brand of kitchen appliances. they were exporting and competing well against the rest of europe for the market. That was Slovenia. Slovenia in particular was probably the most effective of the former yugoslavian republics for manufacturing. i encounter their devices on a daily basis and their price point is below every other thing and the quality is better than china by at least a factor of 2.

hah. i didn't think of the oauth, of course. the other way it would be more productive to get a lighter and burn your FRNs. 100/month pro max 5x would be plenty for a fairly substantial workload that you could coordinate over some kind of IM system, for sure, though a custom client would be better.
anyway, here's the thing. i already have a working language translator that uses a novel language processing algorithm much like text embeddings and LLM tokens already. it also can recognise AI text, even troll text and probably won't be long once i am able to dig into it, to recognise style - prose, nonfiction, propaganda (that one is already easy, trolls and propaganda are very similar). i am literally at the point where within a month that is all totally zipped up and i can start on an actual chatbot using this, training it with more specific kinds of information like chemistry or computer science or whatnot, and have it be able to answer questions, and probably synthesise novel protocols that can be derived from existing ones. after that - tool use, and reasoning.
so, learning how to use dumb protocols to talk to robots that are prone to statistical errors, isn't really sensible from my position. but there is almost nobody in the world doing what i'm doing. probably nobody at all. everyone is bewitched by this magical statistical recognition neural network system. i've got something already in the form it can translate better than google translate.

heart every day, liver 1-2 times a week, and spinach and chard, and lots of tallow or lard. of course you can add lots of other little things in there, parsely, betroot greens, carrot, roasted/sprouted seeds, but that's the backbone of a full keto/carnivore diet. one thing that most keto/carnivore people don't know is that muscle meat is the least valuable on the animal. the heart is the king. liver you gotta go easy not too often. lung/spleen is ok, brains only of birds and fish, kidneys as you can imagine need a lot to cover the pissy taint in them. small animals you can bbq or stew until all the bones are mushy are fantastic for immunity and calcium/phosphorus. and number one componet, by weight should be the fat. but unless you have got your taurine sorted out first (that's from heart, but if you are new to this you probably should buy powder or capsules) your intestines won't make enough bile to actually use that fat, in fact itt may give you the runs.

the thing that puzzles me is that virtually all of that is covered with most decent quality chatbot apps like claude app. i spend all my time at home mostly with the code cli coding, and when i'm out, i am way too distracted to be directing the code generation work. and i'm increasingly using the app itself to keep my brain moving so i don't lose too much flow state as with my code, processes that take half an hour and now a record of 2 hours running automated debugging processes, i'm still focused hard on doing a job that is late in shipping, and complex, but i literally don't need to do that now. more important is staying alert when the code work needs my interaction again.

after coming up with the idea of building web apps with persisting multiple service workers, to enable parallelizing things like encryption and relay connection management, and building a basic javascript target for tinygo, i realised that my idea for a cut down Go-like language could go along with a similar model for binary based runtimes.
orly already has a run mode where there is multiple subcommands, a launcher, which spawns a database and acl handler and other things (like the marmot mls/email bridge i've been building under a contract) and now i have a simplified, tiny version of Go that puts every execution environment in a single threaded, cooperative only context (same as tinygo) but added a transparent feature to spawn new kernel processes (or service workers) enabling a language that forces programmers to avoid all the concurrency bugs (this is no different a problem between regular Go and javascript browser runtimes btw, except javascript makes it even more complex).
now, this means it doesn't need mutexes, atomics, and there's literally no way to make all the common concurrency errors. you want parallelism, you spawn() a process, feed it parameters and it returns a stop channel and you can put any number of bidirectional or one directional channels in its parameters.
the language is called moxie, and i probably will have to admit that @npub1f6u…zcka and her sexy sphinx cat who has this name, was why i picked the name. but also because moxie is a softdrink that contains angostura bitters and is supposed to be some kind of tonic. mostly just marketing nonsense but the mascot of moxie is a hairless sphinx cat. i haven't got around to importing that part of the thing into it yet, but the language is fully tested, and will be quite familiar to anyone who knows Go, except it literally doesn't let you make all the architectural blunders that Go itself lets you so easily stumble into. and performance-wise, go's work stealing scheduler cuts you out of about 20% of potential CPU throughput for high cpu load processing, as well as putting a wall between your concurrency so - you can write low latency handlers in threads, but now you can also easily spawn multiple processes to scale up processing capability, and handle load, and tear them down just as easily when traffic reduces.
and UI - it's already got a native web browser runtime that lets you have all that as well, except also present a DOM and link it up to service workers in native Go-like syntax using channels.
it will be refined and perfected more and the cute kitty will be added to its branding.

Go's owners don't want people to build anything other than servers with Go. well, with similar syntax and stricter, simpler concurrency rules, you can now do servers AND apps, on web, and later there will be an output mode that integrates GeckoView and that means native apps on any desktop. even windows, i guess, but i'm not supporting that. darwin support already exists, tested with QEMU with both amd64 and arch64 platforms, and later i'll get around to BSD support as well, because it's trivially different from darwin and linux (and ultimately, maybe later, android, but google's obstraction of their android system makes me very hesitant). i don't have infinite time to support all the things. fennec browser lets me do a full nostr app with secure isolation between signing/mls and the presentation and relay layers (and identity). for what reason would there be to wade through the swamp of obese, confused, complicated native runtimes anyway? teh only practical answer is "to write games" which is a totally different kind of work.

also, i can't recommend enough the use of playwright, or better, Selenium, for end to end UI flow tests. i just had claude working for 2.5 hours autonomously just before. selenium is my pick, because it works with firefox. i'm not even going to waste my time supporting chrome at this point, because of all the ridiculous obstacles on the signer extension which is not optional. chrome shop approval delays, and byzantine UI, took me 2 hours to get through it previously and that's utterly wasted time. firefox on mobile runs signer extensions too, no need for stupid bunkers like amber.

hehe... the only thing that annoys me about the cli is i have to type backslash enter to make new lines. they still haven't got around to doing a ctrl-enter or shift-enter to make it more natural. and copypasta you end up with all these funny characters in the output. but that's about it for caveats. it's lighter, more featureful and faster.
but then i don't generally use nonsense like react or angular or typescript if i can avoid it. i got it to build a tinygo -> browser javascript translator and you'll see the app soon when i finally finish the Marmot MLS messaging module in it, hopefully finally today. uses a novel architecture also, several independent service workers, offloading relay work and identity management work in separate kernel threads, the MLS state machine lives inside the signer. the rendering of kind 1 threads happens in 2 seconds and then the media loads, which is obviously as slow as the network delivery.
and yes, i may just be a one man gps ;)

Current NIP-07 gives you signEvent (Nostr event-shaped only) and nip44 encrypt/decrypt (pairwise). MLS needs fundamentally different primitives. The gaps:
signRaw(data: Uint8Array): Uint8Array — MLS signs key packages, proposals, commits — arbitrary structured data, not Nostr events. signEvent hardcodes the event schema. You need raw Ed25519 signing over arbitrary bytes.
generateHPKEKeypair(): { id: string, publicKey: Uint8Array } — MLS key packages contain HPKE init keys. The signer must generate them and hold the private half. The client never sees it.
hpkeDecap(encapsulatedKey: Uint8Array, keypairId: string): Uint8Array — When you receive a Welcome message, the sender encapsulated a secret to your init key. Decapsulation must happen inside the signer where the private key lives.
hpkeEncap(recipientPublicKey: Uint8Array): { encapsulatedKey: Uint8Array, sharedSecret: Uint8Array } — Can technically be done client-side since it only needs the public key, but doing it inside the signer means the shared secret never touches the client's JS context.
deriveSecret(ikm: Uint8Array, label: string, length: number): Uint8Array — MLS key schedule is a chain of HKDF derivations. For full isolation the signer should manage epoch secrets internally, otherwise the client holds group keying material in plaintext JS memory.
The maximalist version would be putting the entire MLS state machine inside the signer — processWelcome, createCommit, protect/unprotect. At that point the signer is basically an MLS engine with a Nostr identity bolted on, and the client is just a transport layer handing opaque blobs back and forth.

yeah, just need to be clear tho - needs to be two donkeys, they need a friend. their food cost is practically zero, and the only kind of effective guarding dogs are huge and will eat half of your livestock just to keep them healthy. the donkey's biggest risk factor is accidentally stomping chickens, pretty much, and you can use them to haul up to 150kg of material around with a small buggy. plus you don't get it yapping at all the local cats who do good work keeping the rats and rabbits from eating holes in your wires and stealing your vegetables.

plenty of villages with ladies who don't want to go to the city and have some trad values still. getting out of the city probably is a prerequisite, actually. it may seem like you lose a big pool but the median quality goes up a lot. a good woman is not necessarily brainy or full of pithy platitudes, those ones can actually be concealing really big problems, mainly to do with having no will to act on their own initiative, and expecting you to baby them. i've been there too. under the sophisticated exterior was a baby.
besides everything else, getting your hands dirty with a workshop and a bunch of chickens or goats and a veggie patch is a lot more entertaining than the droning tedium of a city full of people who are doing everything tehy can to avoid having to think or learn.
