Back in May 2023, when I was spiritually prepping myself to start Leathermint, I was absolutely blasted on LSD and tweeted this while walking back and forth in the sun.
"The silicone valley guys built their empire on LSD. I get it now.
I found what I will dedicate the rest of my damned existence to.
By the end of this people are going to put some god damn respect on my family's work."
The last part was me thinking about COVID and how my family (mostly my dad) has been disrespected throughout by the rest of society.

Imma be honest I was mid work yesterday and didn't want to break my flow but forgot to answer.
I have a lot of scraps I do nothing with. Good pieces too not just junk. I think a lot of that scrap is waiting for someone worthy. I want to giveaway leathercraft kits eventually and I would send some scrap too.
I don't consider them worthless tho so I don't want to just give them all away too someone who I aren't confident will create value with them.
But I'm open you know. Show me what you do with recycled fabric.

I made one to test a new size and construction before doing it on the alligator. I like the size. A lot less tall. New construction make it a bit less thick. Only 4 card slot.

It's actually more the unburn wood smell that annoys me. As soon as I opened the bag it was in I knew I probably wouldn't use it for long. So I didn't get used to it. Not even after a couple days of having it around. It's not that it *stink* but I smell it sharp and it annoys me.
I only burned it once (multiple times within the hour) tho so I'll probably give it an other try later.

Yesterday I received an email from the tannery with the deposit amount I had to pay for my order. I also saw that pump in price.

It's nice to have a workflow but you first need some thing worthy to work on. I feel like claw people are obsessed with building systems but no real idea to build from that system. There's a fork but no meat. Fork is a good tool tho and will be useful when there's meat on the table. But for now I'll eat with my hands and vibe code the same way.

That's why being a Bitcoin *producer* is great. By getting as close as possible to the beginning of the supply chain, you eliminate as need for fiat supplier as possible.
I do a lot of Bitcoin to fiat conversion. I buy a lot of fiat. This is an expense on my side. It isn't cheap to buy fiat. Even when I do pay a supplier with Bitcoin by using BullBitcoin service like I do with a tannery, I still consider it buying fiat to pay.
We can't have a pure Bitcoin supply chain until we've captured some raw material producers. I'm an ideological romantic too and I want a pure Bitcoin supply chain.
No rush tho. Let's all do what we can now. Everything will fall into place over a few decades.

I'm thinking about doing a king of the zap on these 2 to fund a part of my next project.
The book is an old one from the production back in August for the first epoch with the Saif House. You can see in the picture that the ribbon bookmark is on top. That's because I made the terrible mistake of casing the text block in backwards. When you open the book it's backwards.
The wallet is the most expensive I've ever made with a combination of alligator and swift white calfskin inside.
But before I do it I'm wondering if there's not someone willing to do a "buy it now" offer.

I believe this too. My last real test was to change my head gasket alone. Without real solid experience. I managed to do it and everything have been getting SO MUCH better ever since.

Same goes for processed light. I still use LEDs. It's possible to both know something isn't great for you and use it anyway after making the cost benefit analysis.

But if Bitcoin is money, why would I not want to spend it? Bitcoin is the liquid capital. You don't think Bitcoin would be the most liquid asset in a Bitcoin world? I think you understand my point but I don't understand why you think someone would seek something more liquid than Bitcoin.
I think you are the one seeing viewing credit through a fiat lense. Credit IS meant to access capital you don't have and this will always imply risks and trust.
I don't see the point of this service in a world where Bitcoin is the most liquid asset on Earth and has absolutely no other utility than to be spent because it's money.

I think in an hyperbitcoinized world there would be *zero* need for it. The only use it has right now is to leverage long a Bitcoin trade. This is why people want this financial tool. It's to spend without feeling like they are missing out on NGU.

This isn't what credit "should" have been. What credit should have been is not something that is bound to disappear.
Maybe I'm missing something, but i don't see why someone, in an hyperbitcoinized world, would put 1 Bitcoin as collateral to receive 0.5 Bitcoin.

It is so extremely expensive to be poor. It's hard to understand this for people who've never came close to this but it is extremely difficult to get out of misery alone.
When you're poor every problem compounds in bigger problems. You see a small problem with you car and you think "I'll go get that fixed in 2 months when I have the money" but before you get there the problem compounds into something bigger so not it's even more expensive and you have to wait 4 months. By then your car break down and you lose your job. That's if you're rich enough to get a car in the first place.
It's expensive to be poor.

To me, proof-of-stakes means that results are achieved with money. It isn't necessarily bad. But it is a different proof. Let's look at visibility and marketing for example.
Paying people to talk about you is proof-of-stakes marketing. It proves you were willing to put capital forward to be seen. It could prove that you believe in your product. It means you are putting stakes on it.
Proof-of-Work marketing isn't achieved with money. You work and show this work everyday. People see the proof that you work everyday. They start to trust you. Others talk about you. They buy your product and start recommending it. This can't be bought. It's earned over time.
Maybe this isn't quite the perfect example but I hope you can see where I'm coming from with this. This concepts applies to almost everything.
Take a store for example. A store use money to acquire products and resell them at profit. I would say such store is *mostly* proof-of-stakes. What was most needed was capital to rent the building and buy products to sell.
The more capital your venture requires, the more proof-of-stakes it can be considered. Something like painting requires almost zero capital. It is pure Proof-of-Work. And that's when we start to talk about Art.
